Town Set to Announce Season Ticket Price Cut
Sunday, 25th Mar 2018 19:22

Town have cut season ticket prices for the 2018/19 campaign by 10 per cent. The Blues’ prices for next season are due to be officially announced this week but were briefly put live on ITFC Direct earlier this evening where they were spotted by fans and posted on the TWTD Forum and social media.

An adult ticket in the lower tier of any of the four stands will cost £381, presumably prior to the early bird deadline, compared with £423 ahead of 2017/18.

There is a similar drop in price in the other stands with an adult upper tier Sir Bobby Robson Stand seat in Area 2 costing £508 next season.

A lower tier U23s ticket drops by the same percentage from £230 to £207 and it appears there will be a 10 per cent reduction across the board.

The cut will be welcomed by supporters who reacted angrily to last year’s increase of 1.5 per cent in most prices with season ticket numbers subsequently dropping by around 15 per cent to under 11,000.

However, many fans won't make a decision on whether to renew until an announcement has been made on the future of Blues manager Mick McCarthy which seems unlikely to come until nearer the end of the season.

A) Not only is Marcus's net-worth bigger than freakin' Sir Paul McCartney's ...but given that it still seems odd to me that he simply hasn't looked remotely bothered enough about ALLEGEDLY losing a sizable amount of money with ITFC by way of the annual operation loss + the evergrowing debt... or rather as we have touched upon many times: IMHO there is much much more than meet the Eye with the surely still existing carot/benefit, corporate tax-deductible (elsewhere in the Group) and even otherwise, to the fiscally intricate way of his ownership and this aforementioned evergrowing debt ...to himself!!!

B) Several conspicuous looking transactional things happening thus far this calendar year at ITFC making very little sense if NOT McCarthy (and several of those players involved too actually!) knew he was going to stay on. Chambo & Skusey largely improved contract extensions obviously springs to mind, but also some of them loaned out youngster and all the constantly hyped pr/bs talk from the Dino accompanying them! ...like Josh Emmanuel & his "problematic" future most recently.

And as for those various *new* managerial rumors floating around, nahhhh sorry don't really buy the legitimacy of any of them! ...that is to be something other than pure public relation SMOKE and/or temporary DAMAGE-CONTROL!

Cause as good as any other smartly & ambitious run professional football club on this Planet can easily see the many obvious advantages of replacing an already decided upon 'Has-Been' and outgoing manager at the earliest opportune time, and no LATER than during this here current 2 week national teams break.... so that the new guy is allowed the precious time & opportunity to assess the current non-injured non-loaned-out player material while still playing somewhat meaningful games i.e. the remaining 8 of the league season! Then afterwards make his own decisions as to whom he can & cannot use for the upcoming season(s), and subsequently sit down with ME, to offer any unsolved contracts or extensions to existing squad players plus of cause talk overall transfer budget & realistic transfer targets needed in strengthening the team.
So announcing a new manager say hours after the season finale is just NOT optimal for a plethora of clear-cut reasons, including everybody else at the club being headed straight for 4-5 weeks of holiday for crying out loud!

Soooo despite my above argumentation and despite being an inherent Atheist I do nevertheless still silently *pray* daily to 'The Masters of Mercy' :-) lol :-) ....that I might still be proved wrong soon!
But as for what we the public know now I would still put my betting money on INDIFFERENT Evans already having offered SPITEFUL McCarthy to stay.

What about the age concession for over 60's??

The club apparently lost 800 supporters from this age group last season - tell me how it makes any business sense AT ALL not to revert back to 60 to win that support back?
Surely slightly less income on those potential tickets is better than none!!

Its a start but the most important thing is to announce a new manager now - not in several weeks time. Even with the price cut there are a lot of supporters [ myself included ] that wont renew / consider renewing until we know that MM is out.

Its nowhere near enough of a cut to make a difference unless they give a bigger cut for existing season ticket holders reward the loyal and long suffering.

In all honesty we should have considered this two seasons ago.To me now it just seems like a sales gimmick as news has leaked that MM is almost certainly leaving When his contract expires at the end of this season.
For me it looks obvious that the owner wants a big name manager at the club to boost his ego.Thats how I see it,anyway.I think any hopes of a young up an coming Manager is highly unlikely.Hope I'm wrong, but I don't think so.
