Donacien and Graham Start Against Boro
Tuesday, 2nd Oct 2018 19:21

Janoi Donacien and Jordan Graham return to the Town line-up facing Middlesbrough for the suspended Matthew Pennington and Gwion Edwards, who drops to the bench.

Donacien comes into the team at his usual right-back role with Graham on one flank and Grant Ward on the other. There’s no place in the Middlesbrough 18 for ex-Blues skipper Grant Leadbitter.

Town: Gerken, Donacien, Nsiala, Chambers (c), Knudsen, Skuse, Chalobah, Ward, Nolan, Graham, Jackson. Subs: Bialkowski, Edwards, Spence, Sears, Downes, Dozzell, Edun.

Middlesbrough: Randolph, Shotton, Ayala, Flint, Friend (c), Besic, Howson, Saville, Downing, Braithwaite, Hugill. Subs: Lonergan, Batth, Assombalonga, McQueen, McNair, Fry, Gestede. Andy Madley (West Yorkshire).

Ward and Graham! Middlesbrough must be quaking in their boots. If it was Rowe and Edwards I'd have more confidence. Obviously Rowe played yesterday so was never going to feature and presumably Edwards isn't up to three games in a week. It makes us look so lightweight. Hope I'm wrong.

maybe Hurst wants a winless record looking at this team he will keep that run going so disappointed in his attitude at moment why I am paying to see this sort of line up just shows I am a bigger mug than him though

Seriously Graham starting!?!...he looks a league one player at best. Hope we can do it tonight but I fancy another draw is looming.

Agreed start the bench bar Spence. We know Freddie can score goals, surely after being hung out on the wing last season he fits the something to prove mould?

I thought Hurst was going to coach the goals back into him....

Whatever our private thoughts and doubts , we should be as positive as possible ahead of any game !
For certain let the emotions and criticism ( hopefully some objective , plausible and pleasing ) show in post match comment; but it would be so pleasant if the malaise of last season remained just that !!

You know, football has a habit of springing surprises. Given the relative positions of the clubs, no one's really expecting us to win tonight. Just got a feeling we might upset the form book. Imagine what a kick start this will finally give our season. Head on the block: 1-0 Town.

No one wants the ball, particularly at throw ins. No confidence. No quality. Now need to rely on luck.

BURLEY IN NOW ..... before we are dead certs for League 1.

So, so weak - catastrophic defending, no creativity - NOTHING.

Well at least with Mick you know it would be crap football but at least we had a chance of a result.
With PH we have not even got a chance as the game is lost after 15 minutes.

But you all got what you wished for

Blueboy

I got loads of minuses for saying Burley and Butcher, as they have been out the game too long. We need Hurst he is the future and knows the lower leagues and will bring in all these gems to take Town forward.

Karlosfandangal .......... so did I - maybe some will now see the wisdom of our thoughts at the time.

Cannot hide the fact , we are light years away from a win - too many players not up to the level in any way, shape, or indeed form ..... it is what we can see,

Pathetic. I wonder what the odds are on not winning a game all season. Only hope for tonight is a floodlights failure. Let's hope that Marcus won't pay the electricity bill.
