A poor match largely down to the weather conditions but a great result. Our strong manager and his team got us over the line with their enthusiasm and drive to succeed. Long may this continue.

the horrendous weather was as much to blame for the poor game. It was bad enough in SBR stand!
Some players deserved praise namely Chambo/Pennington for holding out under pressure, Freddie for his goal and efforts in chasing lost causes and Gerks for keeping the sheet clean.
I hope Pl doesn't perservere with Roberts at CF as looked completely out of touch and missed so many chances that could have made a difference.
Trouble with playing a poor side like Wigan is that the the game doesn't flow so hoping next week we'll up our game and surprise the Blades.

Wow! Finally got that elusive home win!

Gerken: solid performance in difficult conditions. Chambers/Spence/Pennington: All ok especially given conditions and amount of pressure we were under for large periods of the match....Midfield could have done much more to relieve that pressure but that is all in the past now....

Sears urgently needs help in attack....he's a bit of a one-man army at the moment. Big CF with presence would make a huge difference....

Great result...bring on the blades. If we can keep within 3-5 points by Jan 1st pretty sure we will get decent reinforcements,

At last a home win, in a poor game in atrocious playing conditions, thanks to a scrappy goal from the effervescent Sears and a great save by Gerks.
I thought that Chalobah put in a great shift today, along with Chambers and Pennington. Edwards also looked as if he wanted his starting place back, when coming on as a sub. That's it, keeping on a positive note.
So pleased for Paul Lambert, in gaining his first win for our club, he has been working so hard to unite the club with the supporters after the last two acidic years of MM and the unfortunate appointment of PH.

Best part of the match? Well that came 5 minutes after the final whistle when Chambers’s fist pumped the north stand. Oh how we hav missed those!!!!
