Lee Takes on Bury Town Role
Tuesday, 18th Dec 2018 16:07

Former Blues striker Alan Lee has been appointed head of player development at Bostik League North Division Bury Town.

West Suffolk-based Lee, 40, will oversee all aspects of football from Bury’s U7s up to their first team working with manager Ben Chenery.

The former Irish international has scaled down his involvement with the Blues academy having left his role as U18s coach in the summer but will continue to have some involvement and heads up the football programme at Culford School which is run in partnership with Town.

Shame Alan has scaled back at town. Great personality, humour, enthusiasm for the cause.

Yes Roger - don't know what went on & wasn't publicised at all as far as I was aware.

Quite amazing who disappears from the scene at the Club, from time to time, without being publicised.
Perhaps we don't necessarily need to know, but I feel we have a right to, especially when we put money into the Academy, etc; on a regular basis.
We have that right to know who is involved with OUR Club, in my opinion.

Having said that, being more involved with the Culford School project Alan Lee couldn't be doing both jobs I guess - but now he takes on another ?

Best Wishes to him anyway - a great guy.

Alan was on the panel at two ITFC London events I attended in the last couple of years - his contributions were terrific and I could not have been more impressed. Good luck in your new Bury Town role Alan. I hope you'll always have a close bond with ITFC in one form or another.

Always liked him as a player. Knew where the goal was, unlike some 'strikers'...
