Georgiou in Cyprus Squad Monday, 23rd Sep 2019 14:46 Blues loan winger Anthony Georgiou has been named in the Cyprus squad for their Euro 2020 qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Russia next month. The Cypriots, currently fourth in their group, travel to face the Kazakhs in Nur-Sultan on Thursday 10th October before hosting Russia at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia three days later. Georgiou, who will join up with the squad following Town’s game at Fleetwood a week on Saturday, has previously won eight full caps, including sub appearances in September’s two internationals, a 1-1 home draw with Kazakhstan and a 4-0 win in San Marino. The 22-year-old, who was born in Lewisham and qualifies for Cyprus via his grandparents, is on loan with the Blues from Tottenham until January. If Town have three qualifying players called up for international squads then they will have the option to have the home game against Wycombe on Saturday 12th October postponed.
