Coventry Cup Date Set
Wednesday, 13th Nov 2019 16:22

Town, who face Lincoln City in an FA Cup first round replay at Sincil Bank next Wednesday, have confirmed that should they progress they will play Coventry City at St Andrew’s in the second round on Sunday 1st December with a 2pm kick-off.

The Sky Blues are sharing Birmingham City’s home ground this season and the Championship are hosting Millwall on the Saturday.

Coventry beat Colchester United 2-0 at the JobServe Community Stadium in round one on Saturday.

Town and Coventry have never previously met in the FA Cup, although they have drawn one another in the League Cup on four occasions, most recently in 2000 when the Blues won 2-1 at Portman Road, and once in the Simod Cup.

So, you're telling me that St Andrew's is busy on St Andrew's Day?

If they do get past Lincoln, it'll be 2 trips to the same ground in a week!

Why arrange for the mens and womens teams to potentially play FA cup matches on the same day?
Would this happen with Women's Super League teams?
