Stand Pillars to Pay Tribute to Fans' Favourites
Thursday, 30th Jan 2020 12:18

Town are set to feature a Blues legend on each of the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand’s 12 pillars as part of the ongoing makeover of the stadium.

The club will be making contact with thousands of randomly selected supporters in order to select the 12 players who will be featured on the pillars which run through the concourse.

Town say they are looking for “icons, heroes, legends of the club but across the years, rather than just one era. They don’t have to be the best 12 players - just 12 fans’ favourites.”

The club are aiming to have the selected dozen appearing on the pillars before the end of the season.

Kiwomya, Kuqi, Darren Bent, Scowcroft, Richard Wright, Murphy, Berra. There are lots of unsung heros. We have had some great players. Choosing just 12 is rather hard when you start thinking about it.

Dalian Atkinson. He was an awesome talent to watch. John Duncan didnt know how to manage him, and the club practically gave him away. We always have been cr@p at getting decent fees in.

Magic Jim Magilton. While they are at it, can the Club, as a matter of urgency, make the Portman Road side of the Cobbold Stand look as if it isn't derelict.

Overlooking the jokey comments, totally respect fans difference of opinion and then are dozen of players being mentioned.

Am at a loss how anyone could be chosen from our current crop of players or the football that has been served up the last 5+ years. Surely sliding down the leagues does not promote such a 'legend'. Unless the qualification for legendary status is purely staying put.

Blimey, Heracles (Hercules) must be gutted. He undertook 12 labour.s.....when all he really needed to do was stay at the same football club for several years and punt the ball long!

So many names So few pillars.

George Williams was an unsung hero. Micky Stockwell and Simon Milton, not the greatest but truly great servants of the club. Dalian Atkinson was a player I like a lot but probably not around long enough to qualify.
