Blackburn Eyeing Dozzell
Monday, 15th Feb 2021 14:32

TWTD understands Championship Blackburn Rovers are keeping tabs on Blues midfielder Andre Dozzell.

Rovers, who are managed by former Town skipper and coach Tony Mowbray, have been watching Dozzell for a number of months and Mowbray’s assistant and fellow former Blue Mark Venus was due to attend Saturday’s postponed game at Shrewsbury.

Former England U20 international Dozzell would appear a good fit for Mowbray’s passing approach to football. Blackburn are currently ninth in the Championship.

In December, Dozzell signed a new contract with the Blues, which runs until the summer of 2024 with the club having an option for a further season.

no positional sense at all, cant pass (even though most morons on here think he is glen hoddle), I would say take the money but that only goes in to the abyss so who actually gives a fcuk.

Physically not up to the demands of the championship and has hardly set the world alight in league one . Still looks like a little boy lost to me and moving to another club i think would be very difficult for him. For me this is just gossip that we've heard before and is probably instigated by his agent not going to happen.

Juggsy: I have absolutely no problem with players leaving to improve their lot. Fine good on 'em . That's what we'd all do I suspect.

What I DO take exception to however , is the usual badge thumping/ kissing along with the usual clap trap of how much they love the club, and are sooooo happy to sign on the dotted line etc etc blah , blah , blah .

They all spin it out and try and treat us like mugs . Much like the Club does right now. THATS what i object to. Just be bloody honest . Is that too much to ask for ?

I lost sleep as a 17yr old when in 1983 our squad began to disband, and again in 2002/3 when Burley's talented group started to filter away. Not one player in this current squad would cause me a moments grief if they were to leave, and it bothers me when I read a headline and think...'I couldn't care less' !

Don't you find it all strange that other clubs want our 'overrated' Dozzell, 'totally useless' Jackson, 'total liability' Nsiala and 'worse than Chambers' Donacien.
Some of these in higher leagues (or higher positions) that we are currently in.
I am sure these other clubs have done a bit of research and can see the potential...if played in their correct positions !!!
Now there is a thought !!!

However, absolutely no one has come in for Sears, Huws, Skuse, Chambers, Judge or Ward !!!

Strange....or Not ???

They will also see (know) Ipswich as a 'naïve club' who will sell for very little !!!

Dozzell will never earn an easier living than he has at Ipswich, the talent is there, but the application isn't other than spasmodic.
Needs to go to a Club that expects more from him.
Been allowed to play on his name for far too long at Portman Road - and that won't change with the current Manager.

Over rated. Never seen him have a good game which turned the result. Lives off his Fathers memory. Hate saying it but we haven't a good player at the Club worth showcasing.

Dozzell will be a fine player within a couple of years. The way he finds space when he has the ball is an ability that no other Ipswich player has. He gets out of tight spots that others just can't. He has an eye for a pass but his main ability is finding space when in possession. He will have a fine career and I hope it's with us.

Strange time to be tracking a player - 2 weeks after the transfer window closes ?

After the cup game at Accrington a couple of years ago, we stayed overnight in the Premier Inn, Blackburn. Had a couple of beers in the local Wetherspoons and then had an interesting conversation with the barman when I took the glasses back:-

Me - Thanks mate. We now need somewhere with a bit of life, a bit of music, etc. Where do you recommend?

Barman - Leeds !!!

I'd much rather he stayed under a decent Ipswich manager but it would be interesting to see how he performs in the Championship under Mowbray with better quality players around him.

The Blackburn fans are totally disenchanted with Tony M and Mark V. They have lost the plot, and lost interest. Nostalgia doesn't win football matches. Look elsewhere!

When I was a teenager, very similar things were said about Andre's dad. I suspect we'd miss Andre if he went!

A talented player & yet another one from whom Lambert doesn't seem to be getting the best. Andre has strengthened up a lot physically but needs to play further forwards as he isn't a defensive midfield player.

Blackburn isnt great, suffers from deprivation like every other economically abandoned northern town, including the one I live in. But the UK's best landscapes are a 30 min drive away, I assume Blackburn's players don't live in Blackburn town centre.

Uks best landscapes......hmm....plenty of fantastic landscapes all over the Uk. Not been to Scotland, Yorkshire, Sussex, Devon or Cornwall I take it

I doubt this true, but Andre is the most technically gifted player in our squad. Thats not just my opinion, but of all of the squad and ex-pro's who have watched him. Any fan that thinks he's average, lightweight or ineffective clearly doesn't know anything about football. He's not a defensive holding midfielder where he's had to play most of the season. If he had players ahead of him making runs to pass to, we'd see so much more from him, but given the dire tactics from Lambert, his options are limited.

Had potential for years when are we going to start seeing it. Mick Mills says he doesn't offer enough that's good enough for me.

DA22A....Totally agree with you on that ....If people actually watch what he can do at times [ yes , he hasn't been great on occasions ] instead of moaning about the odd misplaced pass or being out of position....then maybe they could see what a very gifted player we have.....He would be great in a Championship side with more time on the ball & people making runs for his passing.....imo the players we have around him at P R are not up to HIS level of understanding..
