Jackson and Nolan Banished to U23s
Wednesday, 17th Feb 2021 09:47

Striker Kayden Jackson and midfielder Jon Nolan have been banished to training with the U23s squad by manager Paul Lambert.

Jackson, 26, has been with the squad coached by Kieron Dyer and Terry Butcher since his red card in the Sunderland match, Lambert having made no secret of his annoyance with the striker, who was dismissed in the 10th minute for a studs-up challenge, following the match.

Nolan, 28, showed his frustration to Lambert having travelled to Crewe at the end of last month and only been told he was left out of the matchday 18 shortly before the game.

Jackson was available for the postponed fixture at Shrewsbury and last night's game having served his ban but was not involved in the squad for either game. Nolan has not been in the 18 for the last three matches.

Both were linked with moves away from Portman Road on transfer deadline day but with the club not receiving offers they saw as acceptable.

Both players should be starting! Shocking, how much more do we have to put up with this.

No smoke without fire (pun intended) quite frankly thought Nolan has played much better than either Dozzell or Downed this season, not thats saying much though......

PL has Huws doing some light gardening for him at his luxury static caravan in Hemsby

So what.., and they'll just see their contracts out ? This club is a farce of a mockery of a sham. I can't see any good news at any point in the future. Evans has broken the club, and I fear it is beyond repair. It's a mangers graveyard, Keen, Jewel will never manage again. Hurst, McCarthy have their reputations ruined. We won't be able to recruit a decent replacement.

Evans has to find a way to find new ownership of this club, whatever the final cost. Evans has to admit he can not direct this club anymore. Time is well and truly up. Lambert has struggled finding a regular first team and Evans is losing the supporters.

It's official then: our club is a bl**dy shambles and getting worse by the day. Lambert out now!!

So he bans the local media from the club and then bans 2 players from the first team squad----why is this allowed to happen!?

Unfortunately Lambert is like a spoilt school kid.
Woolfenden states the obvious and is instantly dropped.
Doesn't like the questions Phil keeps asking...and is banned.
Nolan who has been one of our better players tells the manager he is upset about not being in the squad...and is then banished to the u23s
Jackson who was sent off for one mis-timed challenge in a game we would not have won anyway has been hung out to dry and also now training with the u23s

Next week he will be taking his ball home with him too...and telling on the 'big boys'

Where's O'Neill with this shambles? What is he doing about it? Head not above the parapet.

Oh no. How will we cope without Nolan's incisive passing, direct running and incredible goal threat!?

Emyr Huws should look world class in league one..... yet he doesn't look it. Great physique and talented - always been given game time in his favourite position yet in 18 months in this division has he looked like the player to help us out of this division? 100% Lambert's fault you all say? I think not......

@moggasnotebook
Do you not think that the manager bears a huge amount of the blame (less than 100% alright) for the longterm underperformace of arguably the best player, on paper, in his squad?

surely evans can see that mis-using two of the (few) players in our club who attract attention from higher levels means it's time to get rid of lambert.

he's mismanaged downes, woolfenden, donacien and dobra (and many others) at times too, surely denigrating the club's assets is sackable?

Well at least they'll get a better game under Dyer/Butcher

As has been the case for a few years now, players who perform at such a bl**dy awful level when they're on the pitch suddenly become everybody's favourites when they're not in the side. Nolan gets involved for 10mins of each game, Jackson for considerably more, but only to keep running the ball out of play with his dreadful first touch and imaginary pace!

For someone who talks about structure and having a plan, there is no discernible pattern to the current manager's method of running the playing staff. Neither Jackson or Nolan are particularly vital cogs in the machine but if they were going to be problems within the squad then why were they not shipped out during the window? Even if valuations were not met, how can they possibly be contributing if banished to the U-23s? Sometimes, addition by subtraction works.

Squad too big - everyone unhappy . The time has come . Bring in Eddie Howe who knows how to get promotion ( next season ) at this level

Where is Evans to get a grip of the situation?
