Compensation Options and Season Ticket Pricing Delayed Following Takeover
Thursday, 8th Apr 2021 15:15

Town have delayed confirming compensation options for season ticket holders for this season and pricing for 2021/22 following yesterday’s takeover.

A statement on the club site reads: “The club would like to make season ticket holders aware that confirmation regarding the refund options available because of restrictions to home games this year will now not be announced this week. The season ticket pricing for 2021/22 has also been put on hold.

“The club had intended to confirm the refund options available today and then announce the season ticket pricing on Friday but following yesterday’s historic events that saw Gamechanger 20 Ltd become the new owners of Ipswich Town, it has been decided to delay both for now.

“The club will publish both the compensation options and the pricing for next season as soon as possible and an update will be provided next week.”

If they have any sense they will just transfer any season tickets fully paid up onto next season
Vouchers will not be an option this season for me and regarding offering all home games on I follow we have 3 season tkts in our house but only ever watch the one game Let's hope they look after the loyal fans that stuck by them this season ⚽️💙

Well they have a number of options. They will know there is a demand following the takeover and they could increase prices knowing people will pay because of expectation. They could hold to try and get fans in to see a new era. Offer an incentive for promotion next year to the Champ and possible Prem. Will people wait to see who is in and who is out before buying tickets. I think they need to reward season ticket holders this year, with straight renewals if wanted. Be interesting to see if they look at other teams in the league and compare our prices to similar markets, as I believe our prices are quite expensive compared to competitors and similar teams. We will find out soon enough.

Xx1. The free ifollow has nothing to do with the club. It's the efl providing that aervicexfree of charge.

Is this true blues1?
I just thought they got a deal buying in bulk for season ticket holders. Maybe yhe new investors could afford to transfer season tickets. That would be a great touch.

I think we have circa 9000 season ticket holders at say an average of £500 per ticket.

Rolling these on to next season would cost the club circa £4.5m, that's a lot of footballing talent at League 1 level.

Not expecting much in the way of cash coming back. Do expect discounting going forward. Think ST revenue was c. £2.8m. Could have dreamt that though.

These guys know what they are doing----I suspect there will be some good deals and some nifty PR and marketing------I am sure and feel totally confident that existing season ticket holders will be welll looked after and I am imagine there will be a lot of new applicants tring to get on board the blue flyer.

Yes it is exciting and I am excited for the first time in ages----COYB!!

If they have any marketing nouse that will be a huge swing from ME because the pricing and incentives were rubbish under ME. I would recommend they look at the senior citizen discount that ME removed for 60 year olds and lost a large number of season ticket holders
