We moved the ball with pace and skill all night. Better than at any time last season.
Clements, Dobra and the Humphries promising
Thought the header was over the line.
Ok we lost and the pressure grows but I enjoyed it.
In the early rounds This competition is used to get players fit and should have 5 subs
Would have liked to see Pigott play.
Norwood is a crock and for all sorts of reasons we should get rid.

Did anyone notice that the referee was standing about 2 feet from the ball and directly in line with the goal , when the free kick was taken, which resulted in the goal.

Better side lost. Sometimes that's how it is. Terribly unlucky & their keeper did well. Would prefer an entertaining performance & lose like this one than a dire one and win. Better than the dross we've been used to. Other than the loss I'd take that performance any day.

Looking at the highlights (which admittedly are subjectively chosen) it seems we played well and on another day would probably have won, especially if the first hit-the-post shot had gone in. Small margins. We do need to win in reality soon, though, to keep up the momentum and keep people on board. Some fans will always stick by the club, but others will have less patience, and that's their prerogative. COYB!

To coin a phrase, "We wuz mugged!"

I agree the highlights are subjective but surely, if Newport had threatened our goal on any other occasion, it would have featured.

Our passing and especially our movement off the ball looked far sharper and smarter than at any other time I can remember in the last several years. Some real positives from the game.

Always a bad feeling in the gut when you lose but the lads played well and probably should have won on balance.

I'd take 3 points in the next league outing over a cup win at the moment. The bad luck will even itself out over the season and hitting the post today means goals tomorrow.

Sterling effort boys... onwards and upwards.
