Nsiala Issues Apology For Misunderstanding
Wednesday, 8th Dec 2021 14:26

Centre-half Toto Nsiala has issued a statement following last night’s game at Charlton, apologising for for what he felt was a misunderstanding which led to a confrontation with some supporters following the final whistle.

After the Blues’ 2-0 defeat had been confirmed, Nsiala became involved in a heated exchange with fans at the front of the Jimmy Seed Stand. Christian Walton sought to act as peacemaker before being shoved away by a supporter, who was subsequently dragged away by stewards as police moved the two Town players away from the incident.

Nsiala, 29, said in a statement issued via the club website: “Following last night’s game, I would like to applaud and thank the supporters for travelling in their thousands and paying their hard earned cash, especially at this time of year. "

“All of the lads and I fully appreciate the time and effort of the fans who support us up and down the country.

“Frustrations were high and I completely understand why, as that performance was not good enough.

“My intention was to acknowledge the supporters and tell them that we are doing all we can to put things right but unfortunately this did not come across how I intended.

“I apologise for the misunderstanding. I know the fans deserve more and I’ll be giving everything to deliver the performances and results that we can all be proud of.”

Where is the club captain?
Morsy should be out the front apologising to the fans.
If he doesn't want to be here because he only wanted to play for Cook, then drop him and get rid of asap.
Cook intimated that he was the messiah, but I've seen nothing from him.

What's Harry Redknapp doing as a steward at Charlton?

If you don't think there was a lack of effort last night you've never played the game at a decent level. There's been very few games this season when the team has played with any sort of fight or passion. The captaincy should be taken away from Morsy and given to Edmundson one of the few players who deserves to be wearing a Town shirt.

The actions of some fans last night is an embarrassment. Whatever you think of Toto as a player I don't think anyone can honestly say this lad doesn't care. I'm happy to criticise on here and to an extent at games but it seems people think being “issed 0ff” means they can act like idiots. 😡

At the end of the day to quote a phrase associated with another famous old club " all ipswich aren't we" as another poster put we have to stick together to move forward.

To be fair I thought there was nothing wrong with Toto or Walton in terms of commitment
His distribution was poor but he threw himself in front of a few shots
Some of the others certainly weren't committed enough
I never thought I'd want Warnock but I'd get him in for one last managerial job
He could steady the ship tighten the defence and bolster the team getting rid of the freeloaders
It would be with a view to handing over a better run club to a new manager ideally in the Championship but on last nights performance there are more pressing problems that need a strong no nonsense character much like MM when he first took over who did to be fair to him sort out a club in crisis back then

Toto didn't have to apologise in my view. Minor row! Issue is he's not agile enough to stop any half decent or quick forward with a trick. If he deals with that he'll be sorted. I'm afraid he's been given opportunity and not delivered. Like a few of our underwhelming players

No. Clearly mouthing "f@ck off" was not a "misunderstanding"

The fan who ran onto the pitch and pushed Walton (easily our best player on the night) has committed a criminal offence. I hope we can identify and ban the idiot as he appeared to be well old enough to know better.

No performance excuses fans to behave like he did.

Reading these comments just make me realise how backward the fanbase is, a bit like the team. He heard some home truths and didn't like it. None of them are fit to eat the shirt. Pathetic absolutely pathetic
