The ref apparently told the managers that if the game went on beyond 75 mins the result would have to stand - which turned out to be a load of nonsense. He was a Scottish ref and it might apply north of the border but not in the EFL.
I missed Villa (weekend break in Portugal booked by amazing wife but for the wrong weekend 😬) and Bournemouth (storm something or other meant I couldn’t even get out of Devon). Evening games I stop over. Looking forward to some better performances this season to make the journey home seem shorter.
Town 1 Arsenal 0, August 1977. David Geddis scored and the things I most remember were the game being stopped because of torrential rain and the shininess of Malcolm Macdonald’s legs.
It must still be a possibility (however slim) that Man City get hit with a hefty points deduction which would see them relegated. On that basis, finishing 18th could be massive and therefore the strategy has to be to put out the strongest side for each game with a real intent to get more points on the board.
Agree with all of that but I'd add Spurs home to the first category and Man U home to the fine margins going against us category (Onana making two worldie saves)
