Town-Everton Tie to Feature as FA Cup Quarter-Final Classic
We were unlucky in the replay. It was a great game and I remember standing in a packed Churchmans and Town putting loads of pressure on the Everton goal but the ball just wouldn’t go in - and then I think Russell Osman was judged to have fouled in the box and a dubious Everton penalty?

Westy, I reckon you should use your train ticket and see it as a mini break. I went to Rochdale a couple of months ago and there’s loads to do - a small museum, a grand Town Hall, some gardens, and um, um, ummm...actually, maybe see if you can get a refund?
Harry Steps Down
Sincere thanks Harry for your unstinting dedication to bringing us your notes. They provided a great insight into the teams we were facing,I’ve loved reading them and will miss them. Now chill...
Knudsen in Danish Squad
Elizabeth, you’re getting Real Madrid muddled up with Skied Oslo (who doesn’t?). We beat the Norwegian side 7-0 on this day, and held Real to a goalless draw away having beaten them at home - but not, sadly, by 7. There’s a nice piece about the home and away legs in The Kevin Beattie Story...
Sherwood in Contention for Town Job
No thanks. He wouldn’t be at the bottom of my list but he’s definitely not near the top. Paul Hurst or Burley+Butcher any day over Sherwood. I don’t want a Keane and McCarthy with an ego the size of Belgium at the helm. We’ve been there and done that and it didn’t work (twice).
West Brom’s Hammond at Portman Road to Run Rule Over McCarthy
Thanks ROBITFC. I don’t know a lot about Paul Hurst but from the article I’d have to say I’m excited. He’s got Shrewsbury playing football and sets his team up to win games. He knows the lower leagues and can spot affordable talent and, what’s more, he seems humble! To my mind someone of his ilk is just what we need.
Milne: New Sponsorship Will Bolster Funding
Ipswich Town marketing department have today revealed that the Magical Vegas news story was in fact part of an elaborate and innovative way to announce the club's new signing. A delighted Ian Milne said 'It's often said that if you pay peanuts you get monkeys. Well let me tell you how happy we are to have spent peanuts and to not only have bought a monkey but also his owner in our new much needed new central defender, Johnny 'Magical' Vegas'. Boss Mick McCarthy is reported to be excited at the prospect of playing his new signing out of position, subject to the results of a late proper bloke test.
Town Announce New Shirt Sponsor
Are you reading this thread Ian Milne? Do you ever read anything on this site? Do you have any idea at all what supporters feel about ANYTHING? Everything that used to make me so proud of this club is being stripped away and just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, this. If the club was trying to alienate fans it couldn't do any better job than it's doing at the moment. Utterly utterly sick and tired of this owner, this manager, this MD, this dreary football, and the constant chipping away of our club. I want my Ipswich back.
McCarthy: Beaten By a Considerably Better Team
Horsehollerer, you saw the same game I saw. There was a gulf in class and without spending big it's difficult to compete sadly. Add to that a makeshift midfield and we were always going to struggle. Not a great fan of MM but there's nothing he's said in this interview that I'd disagree with.
Milne: Stay With Mick
Suffolk n Good
Agree with all that, plus:
6. CHANGE THAT HIDEOUS KIT
7. GIVE ME ADVANCED WARNING WHEN YOU'RE GOING TO PLAY LIKE HOOFING DONKEYS AND I WON'T MAKE THE 500 MILE ROUND TRIP
8. P45 FOR IAN MILNE
