Simply never good enough. There was a time when I gave him credit for effort and actually seems like a decent guy but when he stopped giving 100% like he did at Charlton then that was it for me. The last of the trash from the Evans era (hopefully)

Toto was one of the very few at Charlton that tried. Left alone to make passes to non existent and disinterested midfielders who were on a sulk. The man is Ronseal - tell him to put a head or foot through the ball and he'll do a job. He's like another we did not rate and let go - Wayne Brown - who went on to play at a higher level. He'll go because we want to free up wages and a squad place; but to say some of the unkind things on here is just plain ignorant

Sotd78 - I agree and disagree. He's a good, honest pro who tries every game. Didn't deserve the abuse he got at Charlton and gets a lot of flack for things that aren't his fault. That said, the guy was a walking penalty for the last two seasons and it's only more recently I think we've seen him deliver. Letting him go would be a mistake imho as he's been in form but I understand why people are less than fussed by him.

Unfortunately , nice guy , he is not going to be able to play in the system we are now starting to utilise. He has not got the money skills necessary. He has always been a hit or miss player with the potential for giving away a penalty at any moment.

Toto always gave 100% and was always a brave defender. I understand why he may now be surplus to requirements, but we should thank him for his efforts and wish him well. He still has a lot to give to a L1 or L2 side looking for some defensive muscle.

Sorry all but anyone who says he put shift in at Charlton cannot have been at the game. He was horrendous - as were most of the side. He is absolutely not the type of player this club will progress with. Fleetwood is about his level but I doubt that he will be a regular even there.

Echo most opinions. He's at the level he is because he simply doesn't fit in the modern game. A decent "old school" defender but not a ball player. I can't see him getting into positions that Edmundson and Woolfy were against Gillingham. In his defence, he spent an awful lot of time with his foot on the ball looking for an outlet that wasn't there. Wish him well, nice guy and a hard working pro.

I also think it unfair of putting the whole Charlton thing on the back of Toto just because of the scenes at the end of the match. By all accounts he is a nice decent bloke and deserves some respect. Normally battles and blocks wholeheartedly and I am sure he accepts some of his own shortcomings. Clearly he is uncomfortable as a ball playing centre half and on corners for us does not make use of his 6' 4” height. Tommy Smith and Luke Chambers a good couple of inches or so shorter often used to pop up for a goal or two. A back three can accommodate one player who perhaps has lesser ability in bringing the ball out but given Toto's contract is soon up and we have recently signed Cameron Burgess who appears to have similar deficiencies then Fleetwood would be a great opportunity for Toto to continue his career with a team that will probably appreciate more the type of qualities that he does provides in his wholehearted approach. This could be a good move for both clubs as with the upmost honesty Toto is not a McKenna type player and was never going to get a new contract. We have Corrie Ndaba to come back (and he recently signed a new deal) and Ellen Baggot to develop further, so we need to start to find a pathway to first team progression for some of these youngsters. Toto leaves with my thanks and certainly best wishes because unlike others I think he is one of the better and honest human beings trying to carve an honest living out of the game and probably has no illusions or inflated ideas of his own ability.

Interesting to hear the Salford guy on KOA podcast saying that he would have Corrie Ndaba in his defence anyday rather than Cameren Burgess, I had forgotten that Burgess had a spell with Salford.

I rate Toto but after personally witnessing his attitude after the Charlton debacle I really am in the mind set that I don't give a flying one.

Good physical attributes and a decent attitude, however if you can't pass the ball with this manager I don't think you fit in and play. Good luck to him wherever he ends up.

Not good enough but I wish him well

As a tight marking defender who gets in a lot of challenges and blocks he has done a good job for us. His partnership with Wilson sweeping up around him was one of the tightest in the league when they played together. Some people seemed to be unable to move on from a couple of rash tackles Toto made in his first few games for us when he was coming back to fitness.
Woolfenden also hits his fair share of misplaced passes but I can see that if we want defenders who bring the ball out from the back then that is not Toto's strength.
Re the charlton game, Toto was made the scapegoat again. As has been pointed out. If there is no movement ahead of a central defender, he is going to be in trouble.

Never understood the flack he got for being a decent League 1 defender. Appreciate we may have loftier ambitions, but he has often been our best CB over past couple of years.

However, appreciate we are shopping in a different market now, and wonder who we have lined up....can't see recalling Ndaba being good enough for cover despite him playing well when actually fit enough to play on Loan.

League 2 standard at best!
