Town Recall Simpson From Swindon Loan
Sunday, 23rd Jan 2022 15:01

Town have recalled striker Tyreece Simpson from his season-long loan at League Two Swindon.

The 19-year-old enjoyed a hugely impressive spell at the County Ground, scoring 11 goals in 28 starts and two sub appearances.

The last of those goals came in yesterday's 1-1 home draw with Bristol Rovers.

Swindon director of football, Ben Chorley told his club’s official website: “I think it shows the success the club has made with our loans. Tyreece made massive strides here.

“His development and his games and goals for a 19-year-old inexperienced lad was fantastic.

“He's another young player that goes back to his club 100 per cent better tactically and technically. We wish him all the best in his career.”

Simpson has made four sub appearances in the league for the Blues as well as two starts and one sub appearance in the EFL Trophy

Right to bring on Jackson who has more pace than Piggott as the situation of the game meant we could hit them on the break ! Our new manager seem to know what he is doing .

I reckon Jackson is on his way and maybe KM doesn't fancy Piggott. He hasn't figured much and not looked great when he has played although always hard to make an impression when only on for 10-20 minutes. Or maybe Norwood is off ? Will be interesting to see how this pans out.

As suggested by others, hope that McKenna wants to take a look and make up his own mind. Hoping it's a Jackson out/Simpson in. Who knows, with Piggott not getting much of a sniff maybe he's looking to move on? Guess we can all come up with numerous scenarios but let's face it, we know nothing about what's going on until it happens!

The fact that we are willing to loan out Harper & El Miz but recall Simpson must surely mean that McKenna has plans for him. Simpson has proved himself as a good old fashion centre forward and that it seems, appeals to McKenna more than players like Jackson & Pigott.
He has had a few weeks with the squad now and perhaps he feels neither of those two are good enough to bring on for Norwood or Bonne if he plays them both up front as the "Bash brothers." I think he wants another "Bash brother" and why look for someone elsewhere when he has a perfectly good CF playing for someone else.

Let's be honest , bonne right off the boil and Norwood still seems to be out the door with Jackson:.get him back, bed him in and see if he can score goals for us in any games after we know if we make play offs or not

I'm guessing he'll be loaned out to a fellow L1 side to see if he can handle the step-up.

Swindon have recently had a transfer embargo which has been lifted but Swindon fans say they are now in deep financial trouble . i dont claim to know anything more than that .

I wouldn't think Swindon have defaulted they had financial problems but were taken over a few months ago, so I would guess finances weren't at play here.

KM knows what he is doing i think. Jackson could be away , i doubt it would be Norwood now, Pigott has never seized his chances so he may be moving on ,time will tell, but it will be for a good reason .

You could well be right but they do have history for defaulting think its 4 loans over the last couple of seasons that have been ended early . Seems to be a bit of a pattern who knows ?

Interesting one. I was in favour of leaving him at Swindon for the season where he is clearly doing well. I hope he gets time on the pitch with us, which means at the very least Jackson, possibly Pigott has to to.

why would we recall him from a league 2 side to loan him out to a league 1 side to help them, helping out the competitors would be foolish! its more likely a couple of ours are going out.

Blues1 by not paying his wages. Doubt that though

Perhaps Ipswich have had big offer from Man City for Simpson.

Well let's be honest Piggot, much to my surprise, hasn't exactly set the standard we all expected from him, perhaps he wants out and if it's to cover for Jackson then that's fine he looks a good strong lad with a good finish to bring off the bench if we need a goal in a game.

Like to see him get some game time with us.

Unless we have a plan which involves Simpson getting game time at Town ( unlikely) I presume we are hoping to sell him or loan him out elsewhere. The latter option looks silly as he's playing regularly at Swindon. Please don't bring him back to play in the U23s & get a few cameos from the bench.

I have no idea why he has veen recalled, but me thinks our extremely intelligent manager has. We do not a surplus of in form high scoring strikers. How many have Piggott and Jackson got recently. I sniff a plan here... Finally after years we have a manager who's judgement I trust.

Piggot off to play games then?

Many opinions on here and all will be revealed when the facts are released, but maybe he's been recalled cause Piggot has failed to deliver on numerous occasions, Norwood ain't got the pace to lead the line and Bonne ain't exactly been tearing it up for the last couple of months. Not sure why Jackson gets such a bum deal on here cause fans I talk to generally rate him.

Loan him out to a bottom half League One team and hope he nicks points off our playoff rivals! Secret agent Simpson. Don't forget a clause that he can't play against us, mind.

He's not the only loan player they've had who's been recalled past week or two, Tyreece Simpson, Aston Villa wing-back Kaine Kesler-Hayden, and Huddersfield defender Romoney Crichlow we're all recalled, they're also on a transfer embargo for not paying wages etc so wouldn't be surprised if it's something to do with that.
However for me I'd liken him to someone more like Bonne so gives us that option he's big quick and scoring goals so may come back confident and worth a look at. Personally be shocked if Jackson doesn't go in this window anyway.
