Town Announce LED Advertising Board and Screen Partnership
Saturday, 9th Jul 2022 15:35

Town have announced a partnership with digital supplier Adi.tv, which will see the installation of LED advertising boards and a big screen at Portman Road.

British-based Adi have been involved in LED technologies, event production and creative content services for 30 years and work with the likes of Liverpool, Everton, Leeds United and Aston Villa.

They own and operate a nationwide fibre network which is used to manage the digital matchday operations of 34 clubs, including Bayern Munich and the London Stadium.

“As supporters will be aware, we have been working hard on various improvements to Portman Road over the off-season,” CEO Mark Ashton told the club site.

“To have Adi on board is magnificent for us. They’re an industry leader in their field and will play a big part in our matchday production.”

Contrary to social media rumour, the screen, which will be in the corner between the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand and the Cobbold Stand where work has been ongoing all summer, and advertising boards will be in place for the opening League One match of the season against Bolton Wanderers.

However, the continuing building work will mean that a few season ticket holders won’t be able to use their usual seats for the visit by the Trotters.

Those impacted will be contacted directly by the club in the coming days regarding alternative arrangements.

“As ever, the safety of our supporters has to come first,” Ashton added. “I apologise to those affected and would like to ensure them that this will only be the case for the first game of the season.”

Not overly keen on the boards myself but another way for the club to maximise its earnings potential.

We are beginning to look professional, on and off the pitch, for the first time in over a decade!

Big Screen and LED Ad boards on 14:11 - Jul 9 with 319 views Mark

LED advertising is one of the things I most dislike about modern football. It is usually set up with flashing and animation to take our eyes off the football and onto the advert. We pay a lot of money to watch football and I think these adverts should just be set up to not be too intrusive.

Mark. I've been to several grounds just last season that have these advertising boards, and not once jave they distracted me from the football. Unless ur not concentrating on the game, they shouldn't distract you. Then, if the game is rubbish, atcleast uve got something else to look at for a bit.lol

concern for the individuals who can't see stobing lights etc should be thinking of all supporters and do not think this does. Money is the object here not supporters really. Am pleased with all other aspects of change but not this

A little surprised to see so much negativity about the boards, but then I'm a lover of change where I can see modernisation and economic benefit.

The ad boards will allow an unlimited amount of flexibility and hopefully removal of some of the "shove them anywhere" boards which have looked so desperate on the roof of the exec boxes all these years. How nice would it be to see that area adorned with club branded "this is our time" material rather than skip hire services or PVC windows......

And if you dont want the screen, dont watch it..... its not a complex solution

Not being plastered with ads for betting companies would be good.
