All you expecting so much next Season, we will need to recruit extremely well before August in order to do so - some serious Quality in the Championship next Season, as you'll all soon find out.
If we don't, and don't hit the ground running, you'll soon realise that this is not League 1.

Think you are over egging the quality a wee bit, blueboy

Saxon blue down voted for showing some faith and belief in his club. I'll say it again, weirdest fan base ever!! 🤯

Bluearmy_81, You can disagree with someone and still support your club with optimism. I personally think those odds are nonsense. Leicester could easily get relegated again considering the rebuild necessary there, they could even do a good job like Barnsley and Derby did, but they are almost guaranteed to start slow. Leeds are also in a mess. Southampton had a bad season, but I'd bet a lot of money on them being the top of the relegated sides. As for us, I think we have a great chance of getting into the playoffs. If recruitment is exceptional and we get a lot of luck with the players bedding quickly and not having too many injuries we could be competing for the automatic promotion places.

These odds are a bit far fetched bearing in mind no one knows the quality of the squads of these teams. Leicester will obviously have to sell their star players as did Burnley last season but they recruited very well and i can see one of the relegated teams running away with it again. We will have to sign some real quality if we are going to get anywhere near the play offs. Sunderland done well but that's a one off normally two out of the three teams that come up go down. The gap between league one and the championship in terms of pace and technical ability is massive and although the owners will be desperate to go up at the first attempt a season finding our feet won't be a bad thing and as long as it's as entertaining as last season i won't be complaining.

When the outsider in a field of 24 is only 20-1 you know the bookies don't have a clue at this stage. Bet the longest odds after a couple of games isn't 20-1. Happy summer all, can't wait for August.

Don't agree regarding pace and technical ability in the Championship Linkboy. I watched a lot of championship football last year and quite honestly was surprised at the very poor standard of most of it. Very much like lge1 last year, a handful of decent teams and the rest were also rans.

This is going to be a tough and exciting league. I don't read too much into odds until purchasing and selling of players is done and squads announced. A certainty is the town will be looking to significantly improve the squas in order to finish in the top six. This will be their aim and not survival. We now have ambitions far greater than previous seasons.

Everyone will have a much better idea as squads take shape. And the betting odds will change accordingly. I can see heavy investment made to our already capable squad.
Along with Leicester, there is huge debt across the Championship. West Brom acquired a £20M loan, just to keep operating not long ago. There won't be much competition from the Championships other clubs when it comes to spending power IMO.

2000-01; we didn't need to acclimatise then!

It's a much more interesting (and harder) league than last year. Leicester, Leeds, Southampton, Ipswich, Sheff Wed and Plymouth replacing Burnley, Sheff Utd, Luton, Reading, Blackpool and Wigan. I thought this year's Championship was incrediby dull, even allowing for the fact we weren't in it.

Well the recruitment process has been very successful so far.

I suspect the owners just might put forward a nice few quid for Keiran to spend on transfers before the season starts.

Challenging the top 6 would be my prediction.

We are going up with a squad firing on all cylinders and developing into a footballing machine.
Bluetinted spectacles aside we really are a very good footballing team in a resurgent club.
Compare us to others in the Championship, who else there are growing and improving, who are imploding or stagnant?

We will be play off contenders at very least.

Our football is better suited to the Championship than it was to league 1. Fewer teams will park the bus. Pitches will be better quality and bigger away fan allocations. KM always said that the run in was crucial and boy did we produce a run in. Next season I'll be happy if we are top 8 at Christmas and in with a shout of the playoffs.

Remember bookies base their odds largely on betting trends rather than any great foreknowledge.

Meh! We'll be 2nd.
Dont want to be overly confident and go for champions.

Ipswich are 4/1 like Norwich - just think how far Ipswich have come against the Canaries (the Premier league yo-yo team) 🤩

Personally I'd accept around a top 16 place all season i.e. hopefully that'd leave us clear of relegation dramas, building nicely (and quietly) away from limelight fir a bigger push in 2024-25. Gamechanger seem to back such a slow but sure strategy. They're obviously delighted with life at PR so far. We are a club going in the right direction. Building momentum nicely.
