Town and Argentinian side Boca Juniors drew 0-0 in a very physical game in front of low crowd at the Blues' training ground. The Argentine side was an U20 line-up while Town also sent out youngsters.

Unusually for a friendly the referee made both teams make forced substitutions, had it been a normal game it is likely he'd have shown four red cards. Town defender Aiden Collins was amongst those forced to leave the pitch.

The Blues played well despite having a couple of schoolboys in the side with James Pullen making some good saves. Dean Bowditch came closest to scoring for Town in second half.

The Boca team had a couple of representatives with them who were issuing pen pictures to a number of agents who had turned up, Chelsea and Liverpool amongst them.

The Blues were clearly expecting a larger crowd with stewards and police both present. Rain throughout the afternoon appeared to put many people off.

Watching the game were Tony Mowbray, David Sheepshanks, Bryan Klug along with Steve McCall and Ian Smith who were running the team.
