Burns and Broadhead in Wales Squad Tuesday, 5th Nov 2024 10:33 Blues duo Wes Burns and Nathan Broadhead have been named in the Wales squad for their Nations League games during the international break.
The Welsh, who are currently second in Group B4 and unbeaten under new boss Craig Bellamy, travel to Kayseri to face Türkiye on Saturday 16th November, then take on Iceland in their final group game at the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday 19th November.
Burns has previously won 10 full caps and Broadhead 13, scoring two international goals.
Former Blues striker Kieffer Moore, now with Sheffield United, is also included in the party, along with Brennan Johnson, son of Town legend David.

Wes didn't look to happy about being on the bench Saturday. You haven't got to do much to get in the Wales squad.

This is probably another reason why we're struggling this season, squad unity just doesn't look as good as last two seasons. It carried us a long way.

Burns has done little this season, Broadhead hasn't even played for a minute I believe.

Good luck to them. The other year they came back from their international break and were going great guns.

Carlo88 did you see the joy on the faces of the subs on Saturday when we scored? Still look very together to me!

Linkboy Wes may not have looked happy on the bench, but not as unhappy as when his HUGE mistake gave Everton their first goal. He seems to know that he is way off his best and I'd hope that being taken out of the firing line at Town would give him chance to come back hungry.... Also I HOPE that a good game for Wales might give him a boost too, same for Broadhead who knows that his time will come if he keeps showing he is ready and willing

There are three players I can see heading out the door in the next 12 months. Broadhead, Burns and Woolfenden. Tbh none are PL level, one is barely Championship level. Football is a business whether we lije it or not. The Club can't afford to be led by it's heart ( and it wont). Let's not forget, any of our players would jump ship if a big offer from a big club came in. They wouldn't think about Ipswich Town FC for an instant, they'd be gone.

Interesting that you are worried about three players who have not been starting. I would be more worried about the loyalty from the new players should town fail to stay Premier League.

I believe heart played a big part in getting town to Premier League.

There’s more adrift this season than many care to admit - but we’re not allowed to question or query anything - according to some !! Because we’ve ‘come a long way’ in a short time - I’ll remind those that it’s ‘no further back’ , and takes no longer to return. Just ask Luton ….. !!!

Broadhead should be given a run on our left. Szmodics isn't effective when not playing as a 10.
