Ex-Town forward Noel Hunt has been named the new manager of League One Reading.

Hunt, 41, who was the U21s boss of the Royals, takes over from Ruben Selles, who left the Madejski Stadium to move to Hull City.

Former Irish international Hunt was with the Blues, alongside brother Stephen, initially on loan from Leeds during the 2014/15 season, making three starts and nine sub appearances, scoring three goals, most famously the last-gasp winner at Charlton on his debut.

Hunt played for Reading from 2008 to 2013, again alongside his brother, and rejoined the club in a coaching role in February 2022, spending a spell as interim-manager for the final five games of 2022/23.
