Three Changes For Town at Wolves
Saturday, 14th Dec 2024 14:07

Town have made three changes for this afternoon’s game at Wolves with Jens Cajuste, Harry Clarke and Wes Burns coming into the team.

Clarke replaces Ben Johnson, who drops to the bench having started last Sunday’s 2-1 home defeat to Bournemouth, while Cajuste takes over from Jack Taylor in the centre of midfield with the Irish international also among the subs.

Burns returns to the side for Sammie Szmodics, who is missing from the 20-man squad as he is ill.

The Wales international’s inclusion looks likely to see Omari Hutchinson move to the left with Conor Chaplin the number 10.

Wolves make one change from the team which was defeated 2-1 at West Ham on Monday with Jean-Ricner Bellegarde coming in for the suspended Joao Gomes, while Mario Lemina was stripped of the captaincy earlier in the week and Nelson Semedo will wear the armband.

Town: Muric, H Clarke, O'Shea, Burgess, Davis, Morsy (c), Cajuste, Burns, Chaplin, Hutchinson, Delap. Subs: Walton, Johnson, Woolfenden, Townsend, Phillips, Taylor, Broadhead, J Clarke, Al-Hamadi.

Wolves: Johnstone, Doherty, Semedo (c), Bueno, Toti, Ait-Nouri, Andre, Lemina, Bellegarde, Cunha, Strand Larsen. Subs: Bentley, Hwang, Dawson, R Gomes, Doyle, Forbs, Guedes, Meupiyou, Lima. Referee: Simon Hooper (Wiltshire). VAR official: Darren England.

Markp68. Mckenna rarely has a cb on the bench plus is dome illness in the camp. Suspect greaves one if those ill along with Szmodics, hence why eoolfenden is in the bench

Burns has been beyond woeful all this season. I hope he proves me wrong but seems clearly out of his depth. In for a torrid afternoon unfortunately i fear

What ?????? Clarke & Burns were horrible against Palace our rhs is again about as dangerous as a wet wipe. Does KMc really not want to win this game ???? Terrible team selection

I'm always positive and I hope we win but this is the first time this season I have seen starting 11 and said 'oh no!'. Burns, Clarke, Chaplin, Morsy etc that's literally not far off league one/championship line up and shows we don't have strength in squad. Hopefully Burns been on fire in training. I'm worried now but totally happy to be proved wrong and will be cheering them on as usual. It looks as though Mckenna had hands tied, I can't see why Johnson not starting or Broadhead or Clarke instead of Burns but I'm not the gaffer, Phillips on bench because Morsy likely get card.
Only an opinion!
COYB - Burns to score anytime !

Prebbs007. Showing ur total lack of knowledge as usual. While I may agree with you about burns, what choice has he had with this team selection, with ill ess in the camp. Try getting ur facts right before posting.

I wonder why we're so reluctant to play Broadhead? It seems a much more natural option with Szmodics out, meaning Hutch can stay on the right, and he looked good as a sub against Palace

Have to agree with prebbs007...Clarke and Burns coming back in just fills me with dread, as well as Wes has done for us reaching the Premiership he just hasn't performed at this level.

It seems the only way Walton will get a game is if Muric is injured. Delighted Chaplin is starting.
