Unwanted Town keeper Andy Marshall says that a move away from Portman Road during the January transfer window could be on the cards. Marshall returned from his loan spell with Wolves at the turn of the year despite Dave Jones's club being keen to keep him.

The stopper wants a long-term switch away from Portman Road, rather than a loan: "I'm looking for something permanent, rather than a loan, and I'm hopeful something can be sorted out while the transfer window is open," he told the Colchester Gazette.

"That's why I had to come back after two months, to make myself available again rather than going back to square one in the summer.

"Things are happening transfer-wise and I am hopeful, although not taking anything for granted."

"I had a great time and things might have been different had I been playing every week, rather than being number two to Michael Oakes.

"But, because Wolves are in danger of being relegated from the Premiership, they weren't able to offer anything long-term.

"Dave Jones totally understood where I was coming from.

"Had I signed for Wolves until the end of the season, it would have nullified my chances of leaving Ipswich in January."
