![]() Wednesday, 3rd Mar 2004 11:55 John Eastwood, one of the authors of the club's official history, The Men Who Made the Town, has died at the age of 57. Eastwood, who lived in London, was taken to hospital after a minor heart attack last Friday and died on Sunday having had another heart attack. A long-time club shareholder, Eastwood was well known amongst Town supporters particulary for The Men Who Made The Town, written with Tony Moyse and published in 1985. Brought up in Eye, Eastwood was until recently a book dealer having trained as a teacher. He was also a collector of Town memorabilia. As well as the Men Who Made The Town, he wrote books on the Bobby Robson era and on Ipswich-Norwich derbies. At the time of his death he was working on a cricket book.
