![]() Monday, 28th Jun 2004 09:18 Town full-back Chris Makin says he wants further talks with the club regarding a new contract. The former Oldham, Marseille and Sunderland man rejected an initial two-month deal at the end of last week but says that he is still keen to remain at Portman Road. Makin says he was initially going to sign the new deal but has had a rethink: "It is normal contract negotiations — as simple as that. They have started at one end and I want a bit more — that is normal. "I was resigned to the deal that was offered in May but I have had a think about it and I'm not particularly happy with it. I will have talks with Joe and we will go from there but it is no big deal. "I have had no concrete offers from elsewhere or anything like that, I would just like something a bit more than has been put down just now." Makin will be with the squad when they start pre-season training this morning, although Martijn Reuser will be absent. The Dutchman is back in his homeland holding talks with Eredivisie side Willem II.
