![]() Tuesday, 17th Oct 2000 16:22 Town have explained the appearence of nets behind each goal throughout Saturday's match with West Ham. A club statement said: "These nets were wider than the goals for the purpose of protecting supporters during the pre-match warm-up from loose footballs missing the goal. The nets did in fact remain for the entire match to see whether it would speed up the return of loose balls during the game. Following the match the club received considerable feedback from supporters who felt that these nets to be obstructive to their view." The club apologised for the inconvenience and said that the nets would be removed prior to kick off in future.
