Alun Armstrong is quoted this evening saying he will sign for Town.

The 25-year-old striker said: "I’ve still got to speak to Middlesbrough boss Bryan Robson and get a couple of things sorted out. But I’m hoping to be able to get back to Ipswich manager George Burley later today and tell him I’ll sign."

The former Stockport man added that he felt he had no future at Middlesbrough. Reports earlier today had suggested that Terry Venables appointment at Boro might have swayed Armstrong to stay at the Riverside, however this appears not to be the case.

A press conference tomorrow afternoon to parade the new signing looks likely.
