![]() Friday, 29th Dec 2000 13:40 Town have denied that Manchester City have shown any interest in David Johnson. Town manager George Burley dismissed the newspaper claims saying: "The club has not received an offer for David Johnson." Yesterday's papers claimed that Manchester City manager Joe Royle had made a take it or leave it offer of £4 million for the striker after having two previous bids turned down. However, it seems this is all paper talk with Manchester City chairman David Bernstein also denying any link with Johnson. Town's two main injury worries for Saturday's game with Tottenham are Jim Magilton and Alun Armstrong. Magilton is rated as very doubtful, while Armstrong is expected to be fit. Magilton is still feeling his knee after a wild challenge from Manchester United's Quenton Fortune last weekend. Armstrong has a bruise on his medial ligament, but is expected to be fit to make his second Town start. In defence John McGreal may make a return after missing out against Chelsea. George Burley felt that Titus Bramble might be better opposition for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, but McGreal has had the nod over the youngster for most of the season so far.
