Lambert Makes Five Changes at Bristol City
Tuesday, 12th Mar 2019 19:01

Town boss Paul Lambert has made five changes for his side's visit to Bristol City this evening with Josh Emmanuel and Toto Nsiala coming into the defence, Trevoh Chalobah and Andre Dozzell starting in midfield, and Kayden Jackson replacing Collin Quaner up front.

Emmanuel makes his first start of the season with loanee James Bree and midfield duo Cole Skuse and Teddy Bishop all dropping to the bench, while there is no place in the matchday squad for either Quaner or Jonas Knudsen.

Young keeper Harry Wright and midfielder Idris El Mizouni, who has impressed at reserve and youth levels this season, are both named on the bench for the first time in their senior careers.

The home side give a debut to New Zealander Stefan Marinovic in goal, while former Town centre-back Adam Webster, who joined Bristol City in the summer, starts at the back.

Town: Bialkowski, Emmanuel, Chambers (c), Nsiala, Kenlock, Chalobah, Dozzell, Nolan, Edwards, Judge, Jackson. Subs: Wright, Skuse, Harrison, Bishop, Bree, El Mizouni, Dawkins. Referee: Darren Bond (Lancashire).

Bristol City: Marinovic, Webster, Brownhill, Diedhou, Weimann, Kelly, Eliasson, Paterson, Pack (c), Kalas, Hunt. Subs: O'Leary, Dasilva, Wright, Taylor, O'Dowda, Semenyo, Palmer.

Other than Bishop perhaps a sign of things to come next season? Great to see Dozzell and Emmanuel getting fame time...

Positive line up with only one loan player in starting eleven.

Fantastic to see El Mizouni on the bench. Win, lose or draw tonight let's hope we're entertained. Come on Town!

Ditching the vast majority of loans or those not here next season is definitely the way forwards.

Excellent.
Just what posters on here have been calling for.
Planning for the future 👏
Maybe an acceptance from Lamert that we are down?

If this is it until the end of the season lets accept its about prepping for next, an extended pre season if you like

Good to see Chalobah return and Emmanuel get a start.
Would like to see Emmanuel given the rest of the season at RB and if it does not work out then at least we would then know. He needs more than one or 2 games.
Would also like to see 2 up top but I assume Quaner is not fit. Jackson like Emmanuel needs to play every game so that Lambert can see what he can do. Would alos like to see Jackson and Harrison (when fit) play as a partnership. This will hold us in good stead for next season.

cant expect too much from the intro of the lads, they need some time. But its good to see them getting their chance. Of the remaining fixtures this is one i would think we could get a result , coyb.

Good opportunity to see if Dozzell really can cut it at this level.

Agreed he's not good enough at this level. Maybe league 1.

Emmanuel isn't good enough either.

...... maybe - much to do though, League 1 will be physical, cannot see him ever being industrious enough to nail it.

Emmanuell looked ok. I continue to give Dozzell benefit of the doubt but am struggling now. He did nothing for first 60mins+

Bish always looks effective but may as well wrap him in cotton wool til next season, restrict him to sub appearances as tonight.

Saxonblue74. He's had no game time. Give the lad a break. Can see a pass. And always looks forward. Just needs a run of games.
