Old Boys in Action Tue 12th Jun 2007 13:19
Town old boys Jason Dozzell, Simon Milton and Neil Gregory will be back in action for an SGR FM side which is taking on a team from Channel Four's Hollyoaks. The charity match takes place at Stowmarket Town's Greens Meadow Stadium on Sunday, 15th July (KO 1pm).

Chairman David Sheepshanks says he is still hopeful that the Blues can sign number one target Franny Jeffers. Blackburn turned down Town's second bid of £500,000 plus top-ups last week.

The majority of the Town squad are back in pre-season training today, an earlier start than ever before. One or two of the squad are not involved as they have had little rest since the end of the 2006/07 season.

Town have confirmed that head of sports science Dave Williams has left the club, as TWTD was first to report a month ago. The physio, who was with the Blues for 12 years, is moving on to further his outside business interests.

Town have announced a pre-season friendly with Greek side Panathinaikos on Sunday, 5th August (KO 3pm). The game will be the Blues' last friendly before the season proper starts the following week.

Defender Richard Naylor is back running after missing the end of the season with bone bruising to a toe. However, Town's longest-serving player is not expected to be ready to start pre-season training with the rest of the squad on Tuesday.

Boss Jim Magilton says that Town target Richard Wright is still away on holiday. The Town manager also reiterated that a deal to sign the released Everton keeper is not yet done.

Town's reserves will again take part in the Pontin's Holidays Football Combination League East Division next season. The Blues had hoped to spend 2007/08 in a newly formed reserve league after finding the Combination too easy last season.
U15s Off to Galway Mon 11th Jun 2007 12:52
Town's U15s will once again be taking part in the Umbro Galway Cup this August. Last year the Blues reached the semi-finals of the tournament.
