Keeper Kelvin Davis remains a Town player for one more day after a broken down plane prevented him from finalising his move to Sunderland. The 28-year-old was due at the Stadium of Light earlier today to undergo a medical and to sign his contract.

Wigan boss Paul Jewell has confirmed that the Latics were the third club which made an offer for Darren Bent prior to the striker joining Charlton for £2.5 million earlier this month. TWTD reported at the time that Wigan and Sunderland were the two sides which lost out to the the Addicks.

Future Town man Jaime Peters scored the equaliser as Canada's U20 side drew 1-1 with Syria in their opening game at the FIFA World Youth Championship in Holland. Peters, 18, is set to formally sign as a Town player when pre-season training starts on July 4th.
