Striker Darryl Knights is continuing his trial with Leyton Orient and played 90 minutes of a 1-0 reserves friendly victory over Dagenham and Redbridge yesterday. Knights previously took part in another friendly with Brentford last week.

Midfielder Martin Brittain has joined Yeovil Town on loan for the rest of the season. Brittain, who signed for the Blues on a free from Newcastle in the summer, spent two months on loan at Huish Park before Christmas.

Midfielder Gavin Williams will undergo scans and an x-ray after complaining of a pain in the pelvic region having limped off in the second half of Tuesday's 0-0 draw at Stoke. Prior to the new problem, the Welshman was pleased with the way his groin injury was progressing.

Town loan target Simon Walton has joined Cardiff City for the remainder of the season. The 19-year-old midfielder was at Portman Road on Saturday and hinted he might be on his way back to Town for a second spell.

Boss Jim Magilton was pleased with the way his makeshift defence coped with Stoke's physical threat during the 0-0 draw at the Britannia Stadium. The Town manager also had praise for stand-in skipper Fabian Wilnis, who was making his 300th appearance for the Blues.

Town recorded their second successive clean sheet in a largely uneventful 0-0 draw at Stoke. New signing Jon Walters forced Potters' keeper Steve Simonsen into a good second half save and the Blues had two good penalty calls, while Mamady Sidibe missed a sitter for the home side.

West Ham have denied making a bid for former Town striker Darren Bent. Reports earlier today claimed the Hammers had offere £18 million to Charlton for the England striker.

Charlton are reported to have turned down an £18 million bid from West Ham for Darren Bent. Town are due to receive 20% of the Addicks' profit on the £2.6 million they have so far paid the Blues for the England striker.
