Central defender Richard Naylor is no longer considered a doubt ahead of Saturday's game at Sheffield Wednesday after an x-ray revealed no broken bone in his hand. However, midfielder Gavin Williams has a dead leg which is likely to keep him out of training in the early part of the week.

On-loan striker Dean McDonald broke his senior goals duck on Saturday as he netted the second as Hartlepool defeated Bournemouth 2-1 at Victoria Park. McDonald was making his fifth appearance for Pools having joined them on a one-month loan.
