Waterstone's still have some tickets left for tonight's talk by Brian Scovell on his book Football Gentry: The Cobbold Brothers (6.30pm). The book, one of several Town tomes out for Christmas, is an account of the lives of the club's colourful chairmen during the Sir Alf Ramsey and Sir Bobby Robson eras.

TWTD and Ipswich Town Ist will once again be collecting old football kit to send to Iraq ahead of Saturday's home game with QPR. Last weekend's collection brought in 220 shirts plus shorts, boots, trainers, caps, scarves, goalkeeper's gloves, balls and other equipment.

Boss Joe Royle is expecting a number of trialists to arrive at Portman Road over the next few days as he looks to bring in cover for Jay McEveley and Sam Parkin during the January transfer window. Royle is also hopeful that come the funds may be in place to make Gavin Williams a permanent signing.
