Marcus Stewart returns to the Town squad for the first time since receiving his fractured jaw back in mid-November. The Town striker is said to be raring to go and itching for action and is likely to get a run-out as a sub at the Valley on Tuesday.

Forgotten Town full-back Gary Croft was spotted at Blundell Park, Cleethorpes yesterday prompting speculation that the ex-Grimsby player could be about to make a loan return to his old club. The Town defender watched as Grimsby beat Portsmouth 3-1.

Unsurprisingly George Burley was well-pleased with his side after their stunning 5-0 win over Sunderland. The Town boss felt the first half performance, when the Blues scored four, was amongst the best he'd seen in a long time.

Town's FA Youth Cup fourth round game with Coventry City will be played on January 22nd. The game, at Portman Road, had provisionally been arranged for the 21st, but has now moved a day.

It appears Sixto Peralta may be OK to play in Saturday's game with Sunderland after being added to the squad. The Argentinian was initially omitted but has subsequently been included.

Town's squad for the Sunderland game is pretty much as expected. Sixto Peralta misses out with bruising to his foot while Matt Holland will have a fitness test on his own foot injury. Marcus Stewart now seems certain be be involved to some degree against Charlton on Tuesday.

Goalscoring hero Sixto Peralta will miss Saturday's crunch clash with Sunderland at Portman Road. The Argentinian injured his foot towards the end of the Leicester game and was replaced with Jim Magilton.
