Squad for Leyton Orient Tue 01st Aug 2000 15:25
Several of Town's injury worries are likely to take part in tomorrow's game at Leyton Orient (KO 7.45). Jamie Clapham, John Scales and James Scowcroft are in the squad, although there is no place for Gary Croft. Tony Mowbray is in both squads as he is that hard. Full squad: R Wright, Branagan, Wilnis, Clapham, Scales, Bramble, Thetis, Brown, Magilton, Holland, Reuser, Scowcroft, Niven, Johnson, Stewart, Logan, Friars and Mowbray.

It is being reported in the Norwegian press that Town scouts were watching this weekend's game between the marvellously monickered Odd Grenland and Brann. The Oddmen ran out 2-0 winners in the match, but there is no word on the identity of the Town target. Any idea Norwegian correspondents?

Burley Denies More Rumours Mon 31st Jul 2000 11:13
Town manager George Burley has denied press reportes that he has made a £1 million offer for Colchester's Lomano Tresor Lua-Lua. He has also refuted stories linking him with Rosenborg midfielder Orjan Berg. Town fans are increasingly worried at the lack of movement on the transfer front, although George Burley has said he is anxious to spend some of his kitty, rumoured in some places to be £6 million, although it could possibly be even more. Certainly Richard Wright committing himself to the club means that nothing will have to be spent on a new keeper. The manager has said, however, that he will only spend on the correct players for the team, not just spend for the sake of it.
Abidallah Stars in Friendlies Sat 29th Jul 2000 19:14
Two friendlies in two days has seen a new Town star emerge: Nabil Abidallah. In last night’s 3-0 win at Colchester the Dutchman, in a twenty-five minute spell as sub, showed he had skills aplenty with fans tagging him Kieron, a player he resembles both in appearance and playing style. In this afternoon’s game at Heybridge Swifts’ Scraley Road he was once again impressive and set up both Town goals in a 2-2 draw.

Wright Action! (At Last) Fri 28th Jul 2000 14:52
Finally something seems to be actually happening with regards to the Richard Wright situation. The keeper is reported in some places to be about to sign a new deal, however Celtic have expressed an interest in the keeper. George Burley said of the inquiry from Martin O'Neill and the possibility of a new deal being signed: "I've spoken to Martin, there has been no offer as yet but the truth is that I don't want to sell Wright and we are in the process of offering him a new deal. I'm very hopeful he'll sign in the next 24 hours and, if he does, there will be no transfer." Other sources suggest Wright may leave Town for Celtic at a cost of £4 million perhaps even as soon as tomorrow. More when and if we hear it.

Town have had their in-house IT wizard Colin Hammond design a program to allocate the 2,000 non-season ticket seats. The program, designed in consultation with the ticket office, is designed to allocate seats as fairly as possible amongst Portman Plus holders, with supporters getting to see the better sides in the Division as well as the less popular.
