Reports this morning claim that Manchester United skipper Roy Keane will miss Town's opening home game of the season. Keane was sent off for a shocking challenge on Gus Poyet in Sunday's Charity Shield and will now miss the first three games of the season |

Town have confirmed that they have signed Hermann Hreidarsson from Wimbledon at a cost thought to be something around the £4.5 - £5 million. |

As the new season creeps up on us the TWTD site has undergone an extensive change. We have gone into partnership with Rivals.net which we hope will be a mutually beneficial arrangement. Town are being linked to Canadian international defender Jason De Vos. The 26-year-old is currently at Dundee United and would probably cost Town around £1.5 million mark. The defender is 6'4" tall and cost Dundee United £400,000 when he joined them two years ago. Town Chief Scout Colin Suggett is believed to rate De Vos very highly and has apparently been watching him since his spell with Darlington prior to his move to Scotland. |

Town finished their pre-season friendly programme with a 1-1 draw with Italian Serie A giants Fiorentina. Star of the show was Titus Bramble who put on an awesome display at the back against world class strikers like Portugal's Nuno Gomes. |

Southampton midfielder Hassan Kachloul has spoken about why he has turned down the opportunity to join Town. The Moroccan said: "I was told last night that the clubs had agreed a fee but I don't want to leave - I just want to play for Southampton. I have a lot of respect for them and for the fans and I like it here. I don't want to say anything against Ipswich because I have heard nothing but good things about them but it was not the right move for me. I will be at Derby at the beginning of the season and will continue to do my best for Southampton and will be as committed as I have always been." Town manager George Burley must be disappointed that a second - as far as we know - player has turned down the chance to join the Blues but said: "I spoke to the player at length last night to try and talk him into coming. He was very apologetic and has heard nothing but good things about Ipswich but he decided to stay with Southampton and fight for his place." |

Southampton midfielder Hassan Kachloul has this morning turned down a move to Town. The Moroccan was in Ipswich talking to George Burley after a fee of £2 million was agreed between the clubs last night. The former St Etienne has decided to see out the remaining year of his contract at the Dell. |

Stories in this morning papers claim Town have agreed a fee of £2 million for Hassan Kachloul Southampton's midfielder Moroccan midfielder. Apparently Town met with the former St Etienne star last night to talk terms and he could be a Town player as soon as this afternoon. More when we have it. |
