McCarthy out

Embarrassing performance by Town.
Taking off Ward, our best player, and replacing him with Varney. Sums up McCarthy and we get what we deserve.
Soft penalties, but we would have wanted them if the position was reversed.
At the end of the day we created little or nothing in open play.

What an awful game of football, lacking pace, passion and quality....two very, very poor sides were on display tonight!
Terrible negative management that was highlighted by our substitutions.
One point or no points, does it really matter?? We should have been positive and gone for 3 but that would never happen with MM who would have settled for a point before kick off !

Poor, indisciplined load of rabble as a so called football team.A team captained by raving lunatic who now shows no sign of footballing ability.A manager who signs new players with more ability than team picked and leaves them on the bench for he whole match.Referee nowt having a lot of idea about refereeing but did know about the offence of pushing in the box will result in a penalty being given.Obvious town players have decided this offence would matter to them.I'm exasperated with McCarthyism team selection, but what do I know after watching the town for 65years.I rest my case!

Fed up of seeing Douglas, he is a donkey. Drip drab rubbish with a few moments of entertainment. Bored watching and waste of time and money. Promotion will never happen with these players and manager. It's one style and that's it, Sears playing outside is a waste, chambers shocking at right back. Fed up :(

The team just doesn't work. Pitman was trying to win the ball but it had been hoofed so far upfield that nobody was near him. There's no free flowing passing like these other teams produce. I think we need to change now.

Very Very frustrating. We played well 2nd half and should have been 1-2 or 1-3 up after 80mins. Shame our best chance fell to Smith. The ref was very poor all the way through the game. His pen decision at the end was poor also, as he missed a number of the same sort of fouls during corners, including Teddy, who was elbowed right in front of goal. If you are going to give a pen for the Knudsen foul then a number of pens could have been awarded, although we fell in to the trap of the Reading players winding our back 4 up, McShane (TW*T) in particular.
Still all that said, i still think we should have boxed Reading in when they were playing keep ball around their box. I still think we are lacking up front - Although he tracked back well, Sears needs to be rested and would like to have seen 2 up front - Best & Pitman.

Im still shaking my head that we didn't get something from that game.

Only watched the game on sky in a bar, but only heard Douglas name once and Sears three times? Why play Sears wide left when it is not his best position? The new signing on loan from Everton surely should have started there? I feel really sorry for Sears his career is stalling? No guile in midfield, Chambers badly exposed at right back, Smith also out out of position and Pitman never a target man! Where is the creativity? Reading were poor, a draw would have been a fair result, but let's not bemoan the loss, the team selected tonight was not good enough!

We had chances but blew it again. Defence didn't cope well and wasn't clearing ball away therefore inviting more pressure. MM chose side not to lose using Douglas as extra cover but it didn't work as Reading had too much space and time.
MM should pick Webster and decide between Smith and Berra.

Our midfield 3 was anonymous and our fulbacks totally outclassed.

Bringing on Varney for Ward was laughable but sadly predictable.

Very poor from all concerned.

No Best, no Lawrence, no Grant.

Very strange from MM

Another excellent performance from our brave boys, led by the master tactician, especially where dynamic galvanising substitutions are concerned. The sight of Luke Varney trudging onto the field must frighten the life out of the opposition defence ; then there's the only footballer made out of feathers, Teddy Bishop. I'm really not going to watch this stuff anymore, even for free.

Mick has taken us back to the Stone Age and Marcus Evans is responsible. Any owner who puts their name on the front of the shirts of the team they own is not wired up right.

A team littered with journeymen footballing characters more adept at heading the ball and putting in a tough man tackle than playing the beautiful game.

Toilet.

Poor team selection from the onset, poor substitutions and made far too late. I have defended Chambers, even recently on TWTD, but today he was taken to the cleaners and is starting to get too hot headed and not calming the team.
Reading looked quite ordinary apart from Beerens, but we defended far too deep, never giving Pitman any proper support, Ward and Sears having to do covering work when they should be attacking.
A back four should be capable of looking after themselves, to have two midfielders and two attackers having to help do their work is a joke.
We have far better footballers warming the bench than those picked today, BUT we must start going for a win home and away, get on the front foot, attack is the best form of defence.

Poor game, poor performance, poor tactics, dire ref. Chambers must be dropped.

What's the point of signing players to sit on the bench when the old favourites continue to underperform . We still continue with playing 3 players out of position and our skipper gets low ratings every week

It's time for changes .................shame the manager is too stubborn to do it

what a poor performance again to be shown Sky TV,we may be well organised and drilled in midfield/defence but we have absolutely no idea going forward. Lets be honest with Pitman and Sears as our main strike force we are not going to score many goals and we must have the worst right back in the league. You can see that most teams target this. How does Smith keep Webster out ? I think we deserved a point but what was Knudsen doing Reading and the Referee were just waiting for that in the last minute. Two very poor sides, as a season ticket holder i feel that it is going to be a very long season. Come on Mick the Ipswich fans deserve better.

It was another average match with Bialkowski again the best player saving us from Smith/Chambers errors
Silly mistake by Knudsen cost us the game but apart from that we were average not awful.

Awful tactics and subs from the manager. Best should of been on at half time. Sears needs to drop because he is rubbish and everyone keeps defending him. He has the pace so why can't he just get the ball and run at the full backs instead of messing around with the ball all the time. Yes readings 2nd pen was a pen but does anyone else think there CB mcshane should have been booked and we have a free kick for simulation as he flipped himself on the floor looking for a pen before that. That was no excuse to our performance tho as reading looked terrible and we should have gone there to get all three instead of being happy with one
