Cook: Pre-Season Plans Close to Being Nailed Down
at 18:13:26

Over the last few weeks he’s had to assess over 50 professional players at this club , plus the back room staff . He’s also tried to get various combinations of players to perform and win games . Based on the last 3 years , where this squad has basically played a version of “ walking football “, they’ve shown themselves to be incapable of adapting to any formation snd style of play the manager has used in an effort to get the best out them . “The squad “ are doing exactly what they have done for the past 3 years - f luck all.

Why do you suddenly expect them to be promotion material ? It was never going to happen . The players have been stealing a living from ITFC and playing the fans for mugs . Well guess what , Paul Cook has called their bluff and Monday they’ll be out of work . Whose fault is it? ......, 100% the players .

Cook: Pre-Season Plans Close to Being Nailed Down
at 14:42:26

And there you have it.
A Plan
A strategy
A goal

PC has 7 weeks from the end of Sunday’s last game, to the new squad reporting back for pre season training.

Then just 7 weeks to get the new squad up and running as one single cohesive group , forced on one goal: Promotion.

Cook to Speak to Players on Monday
at 14:36:11

Really looking forward to the new era under Paul Cook. Hopefully we will be seeing a much higher tempo of play and attacking football, which we simply haven’t seen at this club in over a decade under any of the last 3 - 4 managers. I think we have finally got ourselves a very good attack minded manager, and hopefully a decent infrastructure and strategy going forwards, all of which have been missing under the previous owner and managers.

COYBs, Paul Cook, The Three Lions & Ed Sheeran 👍🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸 ...” Perfect”!

Dyer: I’ve Probably Learnt More in This Last Seven Weeks Than in My Whole Coaching Career

It’s also down to an efficient recruitment strategy. I can’t remember when Town last had one. In fact we’ve been so far removed from anything resembling a recruitment strategy , let alone an efficient one.

Dyer: I’ve Probably Learnt More in This Last Seven Weeks Than in My Whole Coaching Career
at 08:25:28

KD speaks from partly the heart and with experience as a player. I think he does have a future at this Club in a first team assistant role - but not yet. He simply doesn’t have the experience of coaching senior players on his cv. Two years ago he left the club ( it was said ) to go and get that experience. I know from his family member that “ he was bored fishing kids. What does he do ? Nothing ! He ends up signing up for a celebrity tv show , then suddenly returns to the club working with the U23’s .

Why didn’t he sign up with a league two / club to gain that experience and broaden his experience? Yes he wants to be the first team coach , a massive step up from U18/U23’s . Can Paul Cook take that risk next season? PC HAS to delivery. If you were him, would you have a rookie assistant with NO senior first team experience on his cv?

You have to take the emotion , and heart felt feelings out of the equation. To make the right decision you have to be objective.

So I’m saying yet again , now is not the time for Dyer as a the managers assistant at first team level at this Club.

If KD seriously wants this / he has to go and get that experience for a couple of seasons somewhere. This is not unreasonable and in any other walk of life if you want a job your Skills, Knowledge and Experience mix must match the job spec you are applying for . His doesn’t , yet.

Sears Colchester Return Reports Revived
at 12:42:47

Had to happen at some point didn't it. You cant blame a player for believing in himself and wanting to play at the highest level. Sears is no different . I wish him well, but his time as a Town player has clearly run its course. Good luck Freddie .

Town Confirm Rolls Appointment as Director of Performance
at 11:06:48

Brilliant ! Hopefully now our strength /conditioning and rehab teams will be much more evidence base practiced and not this wet sponge , sticking plaster approach for the last decade. We've had these injuries and re injury rates for a reason. Its happened for so long under so many different managers that its not a coincidence.

Infrastructure.....Infrastructure....Infrastructure.....Infrastructure !

He did used to be poor one on one ( see his Tranmere days ). I think he’s just had his time here blighted by injuries . He’s never ever been fit had he . At 30 something going into next season though, is he ever likely to be again ? I don’t know .

Swindon Town 1-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 20:55:00

Algarvefan: I think the problem is , human nature being what it is , people will forget just how bad things have been , and will expect instant success just because our new owners have substantial financial backing. There will be some big club coming down from championship and these won’t be pushovers ( I’d suggest they’ll be stronger than Hull and Peterborough) .

Cook will probably bring in up to 10 players , and with the best will in the world they won’t all suddenly “ gel”. So next season will be very much a transition season. But fans will “ forget “ where we are now and how much has to be done from this start position .

Cook wasn’t brought in specifically for this season, but for next seasons re build . People need to be patient and remember the last 4 or 5 seasons where we have been unraveling season on season until the end point this season .
