The player and his family is from Colchester I bel8eve, and supports Town. We are PL, and as long as the transfer fee doesn’t get silly , I think the player will only choose one club, and that’s us.

Nobody likes a price rise,but when you consider Leeds were charging us £47 last year fir Championship football and Toen haven't pug prices up for a while, I'd say they are being fair for these prices in the PL. They have to keep up with other PL clubs also but I suspect we are still somewhat cheaper than many. |

Trust me fellas I’m not making anything up. It’s well documented his tantrum at Toen when we wouldn’t allow him to speak to Palace. He threw a strop and was dropped or wouldn’t play I’m not sure which tbh. But just when we needed him he met this club down by his unprofessional attitude.
There is something else about him that I know about which is not football related snd I will not put on a forum but suffice to say it underlines his surly attitude. I’m not making it up and people can call it out. It happened. He’s not a particularly nice young man . Which as someone else has just posted we could do with a “ nastiness” in the team. Well, I’d disagree, I’m afraid. He does not “ fit” with the squad profile we now have at this club.

He might be a decent enough player, bug his attitude stinks. If he hadcretjrbed hed have been a rotten apple in the barrel. Ashton / McKenna have worked hard to attract a certain type of player to this club and Downes does not IMHO have the personal attributes to fit that profile. I'm really pleased he's gone to another club. I don't want him back at my club. |
