| Forum Reply | We absolutely battered Hull at Portman Road this season at 10:06 25 Apr 2024
I know Coventry last night were licking their wounds so to speak after the cup game, but Hull looked by far the more effective team to me. So much more physical and athletic and quick. Sats game won’t be for feint hearted, I just hope Town show up becysse through the years,( this one included), for the “ big one”, we haven’t turned up. I’m hoping the 2 week break will have gone a power of good for tired legs, and that Kieran and the boys have been able to thoroughly prepare for this game. It really is a must win. |

Saints have imploded tbh , and I doubt very much they will show for their final game vs Leeds. We have to do it ourselves. But I feel sure McKenna and the boys are only focusing on winning these last 3 games, whatever Leeds, Saints and Leicester have done or will do. Win OUR games and were up . COYBs |

Unfortunately Leeds and Leicester are both turning up for their big games aren't they. The big question will be, will we? I'm praying hard we do. |

And not a lot else from them tbh. The score line totally flatters Leeds. [Post edited 22 Apr 21:30]

Exactly!! If only Town had adopted a slightly more cautious approach at Elland road we might have got something from the game. The same can be said when playing against scum too. We struggle to defend against counter attacking sides. |

OP: it’s just like watching Town play against Leeds tbh! |

| Forum Reply | I just have a nagging doubt that we’ve drawn too many games this season at 19:45 14 Apr 2024
A lot of those drawn games have come at home when we’ve been in total control of games only to concede a goal to the opposition, usually in the first opportunity to attack, and we’ve not defended the ball coming into our box! We’ve then spent the majority of the game trying to get back on level terms. We concede too many goals at home ( double that of our promotion rivals). The response ,” well that’s because we play such an attacking game and that’s the side effect of our style of play “, is frankly, a load of old tosh. Our defence should be able to deal with the ball when it comes into our box. But we don’t do it very well and have conceded soft goals on too many occasions this season. Yesterday’s goal against was once again during a period of Town dominance, and yet again conceded on the right side of our box. That’s a Fact I’m afraid! It was yet again POOR defending. Interesting that no one raised that point on here. It’s laughable defending from the defensive messiah to some of you on here. But he’s such a golden bollox to you ,that you refuse to acknowledge his defensive deficiencies. I said months ago our weak defending could potentially cost us. I’m hoping to God that it doesn’t but the original poster is not wrong in his comments. But as usual on here, if you have a view that differs from the clique, you’re abused for it. When we’ve scored multiple goals that defensive weakness is papered over, and fair few on here either refuse to see that weakness or are simply blind to it. If we are even on points at the end of the season it’s the play offs for us, and quite likely against the scum : and we all should be aware of the likely outcome of that. 20points ahead of them or not , it would be a criminal outcome IMHO , just because we can bloody defend properly! Down arrow away fellas. Couldn’t give a crap now. |

Yes our GD could well shoot us in the foot, given how close it is at the top. You can’t get away from the fact we have conceeded double the amount of goals at home as our rivals at the top of the division. I’ve said time and again we defend balls into our box poorly. Most goals against us are scored in the right side of our 18yard area, often with the opponents first real attack against us and when we’ve been on top : dominant. It happened again yesterday. Make up your own minds. |
| Forum Reply | Why all the changes? at 18:58 13 Apr 2024
The squad have been running on vapours for a few weeks now, and there’s been illness in the camp. It’s about who can remain standing frankly, and raise their game just a little bit more. I’ve watched Leeds and Leicester this week, and they both look dead on their feet. Especially Leicester. |
