 | Forum Reply | KoA Ashton Interview: Being a football CEO, not much fun... at 15:20 12 Jun 2025
Ove seen this chairman and CEO role being taken up by one individual in a totally different business model. Its not a healthy situation in my humble view, and if both situations/ individuals are driven by the same force then it's not comfortable for other employees around that individual because there is an imbalance in power within the organisation, that can lead to wrong decisions. I hope this is not going to be the case at Ipswich. |

Which is why Id leave the seats insitu... then you can opt to stand for a bit. Then sit for a bit, (leaning forward onto barrier if people either side if you weren't prepared to stand back a bit (not ideal but really dont see why you should move). [Post edited 12 Jun 13:09]

in 1978 our scarves were Blue, white and black... cant recall if there was any black in the kit then, but the scarf definitely had those colours |

Fans standing in areas that are designated "safe standing" still essentially have a "seat number" dont they ? And since almost every seat in PR is via a season ticket for a dedicated "seat", there is no requirement to move people who what to stand (they probably already do anyway , in front of their current seat). Just put the barrier up in front of the area, and remove seat ( although I cant see why you'd even need to remove the seats ) . |

Sorry to ask, but is he actually any good? I’ve never heard of him, not that that’s any guideline. |

....I think the phrase of the week is..." I'm staying at the moment" |

We're going to get this same crap every season until he does decide to walk away. |

Its not about getting rid really is it....more that he won't want to stay. Theres no loyalty in football anymore whether you're a player, coach, manager, etc.... the only constant is the fanbase. |

Progress from where we've come from when McKenna first joined us. I'd have thought was crystal clear even to a blind man!! Getting knocked out of the FA cup to much lower league team, entrenched as a mid table League One club, with players that had little or no sell on value, zero entertainment, dwindling attendances at PR. A training facility stuck at level a League One club would question, an academy that had little or no chance of achieving Cat 1 status. Financial backing to a level, that many other PL would like! The days of searching around bargain basements deals is no longer the case. We are constrained only by financial rules. Shirt sales of over 100k ( reported recently, regarding the 3rd Pink kit)... How much more evidence do you want? |

Is McKenna as good as the departing Brentford manager? I'm not so sure. Brentford have been in or around the top half of the PL for a whole now, but are they a top 6 club? I don't think so. They have probably reached their ceiling. Therefore the likelihood is the only way now is downwards. If their manager leaves, I can easily see a couple of their better players leaving ....maybe even going to Spurs too. McKenna would be better to stay at Town and continue to build his squad here. Have we reached our ceiling? No. We're definitely work-in-progress, and progressing by and large very quickly, and well. McKenna is also WIP as a relatively new manager. He showed last season hes not quite at it, at the PL level. Any PL taking him on would expect results immediately. He's not actually under that same level of pressure here. But as we know, there's sod all loyalty in the game these days, and it's largely about money. So if he does want to leave, just hurry up and do it do we can move on to our next manager. If McKenna left, what about Danny Rohl as a replacement? |
 | Forum Reply | Oh no! Not Szmodics off now as well? at 07:17 6 Jun 2025
In hindsight, yes he did didn't he. Didn't he have a bad ankle injury from that Fulham away game? If so, it's potentially a tricky one for the club. Is he going to make a full recovery from that injury ( this coming season will tell), or is this ankle injury severe enough to prevent him ever achieving full recovery, and might Town decide to cash in whilst his stock is still high? |
