My read of it
at 11:31 28 May 2024

OP : Id say that pretty much spot on. I think Mckenna is to only likely to really want the Utd job : Ha they offered it ( they didn't for reason stated ), he'd have gone, fair enough . Other PL jobs? Not sure hes really interested in them , as its easier to stay here especially if terms are increased. Hes got what he wants atm , to manage in the PL . We arent placing too many demands on him , such that he'd be getting at other PL clubs. That's not to say we do not have high expectations. We do, and to be fair his expectations match ours , so there's no need to "demands" because hes more than delivering atm .

When Man Utd come calling again...he'll go .

I just see Brighton as having this more established tag thst comes with the PL money for the last 5 years. But are we so very far behind them with our Club’s POTENTIAL. Yes it’s unrealised , but god anyone can see what’s happened since GameChanger have come here. Who’s to say Town cannot continue to make these phenomenal strides. Being “ established” gives you done headway, but please people don’t dismiss what Ipswich is now as a club and will be in the near future. This is why I’m saying Brighton is nothing more than a sideways step for KM. But I ask, which if the two clubs is bigger and more importantly, has the greater potential? KM resigning for us gives you that answer I feel and I personally couldn’t be more happy with that.

Sorry if that upsets some on here and thank you Phil, for decent response, as usual.

McKenna's agent has played a blinder
at 00:19 28 May 2024

I’m absolutely made up that he’s staying ( he is isn’t he??), but what I think it will do, is ensure Town won’t get caught out again. Absolutely brilliant we’ll hang onto him gif maybe another couple is seasons. I’d take that right now. But Ashton will definitely be scouting around now for a future replacement short list. So if ( when) this all blows up again, Town will probably very quickly move on to their next target, having in place a hefty release clause, plus McKenna’ undoubtedly high salary ( which I may add he’s full earned and deserves so no issues there). We’re playing with the big boys now, so as Ashton has said, “the numbers are just bigger, much bigger!”

Do we think McK was actually serious about leaving?

If by yes, you mean to Brighton, then I’m really disappointed in him.

What is laughable is that Kieran was even seriously contemplating jumping ship to Brighton! Or was his agent just using them to secure a better deal here at Ipswich? So is it down to “ the project”, or good old fashioned money?

A very large groan of disappointment was heard to emanate from the whole of norfolk, and Brighton

Ooo I like the bit about a strong fan base, and laughed about the perception that we lack sufficient Financial backing .

Brighton confident of appointing McKenna this week…
at 12:41 27 May 2024

If Brighton are so confident of recruiting McKenna, then Ipswich must have given permission for him to speak with them, but have said NOTHING to the Ipswich fans about this. Is this likely? If it is then f cuk the lot of them for their total lack of respect afforded to Town fans.

Leeds never committed players into the box for crosses did they…. Or they rarely got crosses in.

Saints defended so very well today . Just like QPR did when they stuffed Leeds. That’s a weakness in our game I feel. We’ll see what happens. But so nice to NOT be involved in a PO.

That relies on a, fast out of the blocks, hit you quick and hard and try to build up an early lead approach . If you defend well against that, they have not much else to offer really do they!

Will be interesting to see what happens to Farke and the club now.

Wasn’t really fussed who won tbh but a bit of me feels sorry that Leeds didn’t go up becysse they were the 3rd best side all season. …… and I can’t stand Russell Martin.

Probably will be, plus the obligatory exodus of their best players. Will they get points deductions from the EFL though?

True, but I’m talking about their obvious commitment out there today. Where’s that been all season? If ETH is about to be booted into touch after the game ( pundits on BBC keep suggesting that’s the case), he must be angry at how little togetherness they’ve shown on the pitch this season.

So the Utd players finally showing up are they. Amazing what an incoming manager ( whoever it will be) can do for players efforts isn’t it.
