Yes, clubs, for players are merely stepping stones aren't they.... I'm gradually changing my mindset about it all. But it doesn't come easy, coming from a different era in the game, I'm afraid.

Guess it's all about viewing players as assets/ commodities to be traded these days. It doesn't sit easy with i will admit, and of course to have an opinion or view regarding this is absolutely forbidden on here.

I need to become more detached from our players going forward, because all of thrm will leave it better offers come along. Contracts nean absolutely sod all, and for me the game as I knew it has long gone. Its only about money now. Sad really.

We won't realise £40m though will we. Chelsea will take their cut, which I suspect is substantial. Then Brentford won't be paying that £40m in full, up front, and itll be a drip feed of money over several years. Any player we bring in to replace him will no doubt cost us top whack.

Bigger fool him if he goes to Brentford. Likely relegation battle for them this season i think.

But I'll wish him good luck. I think Town are wanting this one over line and to use the money for our targets, which I Hope it includes a proven striker...

Ruiz does want to join us after all
at 18:57 17 Jul 2025

Marcel Ruiz became a topic of conversation among Mexican fans for allegedly rejecting a move to Ipswich Town in the English Championship, a situation that led him to be the target of various criticisms on social media for joining the list of national players who prefer "comfort" over sacrifice.

César Luis Merlo was responsible for revealing that Marcel Ruiz is not willing to move to England's Second Division, a competition that many consider to be of a high level due to the number of teams seeking promotion to the Premier League year after year. Therefore, emotions are at stake practically every matchday, especially in the final weeks of action.

Marcel Ruiz's refusal to sign with Ipswich Town denied
Although many fans and analysts consider César Luis Merlo's information to be accurate, this time it seems he will "make a mistake" because the young Mexican midfielder's decision has not yet been made, so it was revealed that his refusal to sign with Ipswich Town is a lie.

According to reports from Martín del Palacio, complemented by comments from Ignacio Suárez and Kery Ruiz, Marcel Ruiz's move to Ipswich is not yet finalized, as he has yet to reject any offer, given that no offer has yet reached Toluca's offices.

Although the alleged refusal generated discontent among Mexican fans, the reality is that the possibility of a move to Europe remains, as there is communication with the English club, and there are also two other European clubs closely monitoring Marcel's situation, with Toluca's board reportedly showing some openness.

Although César Luis Merlo has become a trusted insider for Liga MX fans, the competition, and players, the reality is that the Marcel Ruiz case could represent his first setback regarding any type of information, although the situation is expected to be resolved soon.

Season Tickets availability?
at 14:01 16 Jul 2025

It does kind of back up what a Town fan told me last season when we were talking about all things Town. ST's as a topic came up and he told me Americans don't adopt a season ticket approach for sport in their country, and don't actually like the ST concept, preferring instead to have only match day tickets, because they can charge far more for the seat.

So I guess people need to hang on to their ST's for dear life now, because maybe Gamechanger going forward will adopt a match day ticket approach.

Season Tickets availability?
at 13:50 16 Jul 2025

Has anyone heard or hearing that there are no ST's available?

Two of my Manchester based friends are frequent visitors to PR, and had been using Pat Godbold's staff ST's. They'd been previous ST holders in previous seasons but family commitments meant they had to give them up a few seasons back, but had bern hoping to get new ones for this season. But the Club has told them there are none available. Which I find amazing given there's always some people who don't renew each season, and those who don't want to renew following a relegation.

So are the club potentially hanging onto to relinquished ST's to sell as purely match day tickets, at a much higher face value?

And your lot frequently get good fees for bang average players..... at least our players is more than decent. Maybe Town will finally get a good deal on an asset. Sorry if that disappoints you.
