Next 5 league fixtures for them all quite difficult. Will be interesting to see if they can maintain a significant gap: QPR at home (they should get 3 points there) Sunderland away (tricky) Hull away (very tricky) Southampton at home (also tough) Bristol City away (we've seen how good Bristol City can be at some points this season) If Leeds, Southampton and yours truly keep up momentum, the table could be very interesting by the end of March |

Always worth comparing our points tally against other promoted teams also. At the moment: Ipswich - 72 Plymouth- 40 Sheffield Wednesday- 32 Plymouth are in mid-table and look (relatively) safe from relegation. This was the championship table last season= this was from the 15th March 2023- https://www.royals.org/tables/150323.php |

We (probably) have a real mix of people here. Real Ipswich fans, Ipswich fans who are so used to us doing badly that they don't know how to react when we are doing well, Obvious Norwich trolls, Subtle Norwich trolls, Leeds/Leicester/Southampton fans, people who enjoy "schadenfreude" and Random others. Each with their own outlook/stance/agenda. Don't get me wrong, there is no doubt that we are in a bit of a slump right now; but in terms of the whole season we are doing VERY well. Likely play-off place; plus still a reasonable chance of getting 2nd. Pre-season this would have been phenomenal. Full credit to the team for giving us the opportunity to be proud of our football club again. |

KM has a tendency to bring out the best in players. However, not sure McGinley is the answer to our left back issue. Slow on the ball and needs time to pick out a pass. With coaching might pick up the pace given time. |

....or they beat Liverpool and celebrate like they've won the cup. Draw Maidstone and lose 5-0, picking up the golden embarrassment trophy in the process... Unlikely, yes. But how many of us thought we'd honestly lose at home to the mighty Maidstone? |
| Forum Reply | The most embarrassing result in ITFC history. at 08:55 28 Jan 2024
Wrexham were in Tier 4 in 1995 whilst we were in Tier 1- embarassing but less embarrassing than Maidstone Lincoln under Mick : Lincoln were in Tier 5 and we were in Tier 2: less embarrassing Bolton 2002: both sides in the Premier League= less embarrassing Man Utd 9-0 Ipswich: both sides in Premier League. Horrible score line and we are still waiting for a side to surpass that and lose 10-0. Closest to Maidstone but given the fact we were beaten at home by a Tier 6 side= no competition really. |

Really bizarre what they focus in on. Australia has been non stop about it. Different interviews. "Greatest giant killing in world club history" etc. wonder how long they'll keep this up. |

Bobby Moncur- Newcastle captain at Hereford. I'd guess either Peter Ndlovu or Steve sedgley for Coventry Didn't look either up. But you're right. It's the record of the club that's the issue. We have taken that torch of shame from Coventry after 30 odd years. Let's pray that someone quickly takes that from us. |

Hopefully won't play them again for a while. |

There is a difference between worst performance and worst result. There is no doubt this is the worst result (and it's being highlighted all over the world as one of the greatest ever giant killings in cup history). |

Opposition teams can now easily wind us up with one word. Maidstone. Same thing happened to Coventry after Sutton. |

Looks like one of that list could be correct. |
| Forum Reply | Whatever happens regarding a striker... at 10:37 25 Jan 2024
Any striker coming to our club knows there is a great chance that they'll play regularly as there is room in the squad. Many other clubs have a multitude of strikers, but are looking to add strength from the bench (back ups basically). That does give us an advantage. On the downside, other clubs also know we are pretty desperate for a striker or two. |

If we lost to Norwich in the play off final= it'd mean they'd be promoted. If we lost to Leeds in the semis, it'd mean either: (a) still a chance Norwich might lose the final (B) Norwich might be out at the semi final stage (C) Norwich never even made the play offs (D) Norwich experienced an unbelievable set of bad results and were instead relegated in the last game of the season. |

If we sign Larsen Toure up front (and he's now 39) we will still make the play offs. |
