Ipswich Town 3-0 Club Brugge (1975)

I venture into Brugge several times a year. The locals still talk about that game. I believe it's in their top five games of all time.

I'm in the home end for Oxford. I will be respectful.

Club have done (are doing) their bit, now over to us

Absolutely. I have to go back to the West Ham playoff fixture to remember a decent atmosphere anywhere. I average about 10 to 12 away fixtures a season!

If we don’t get promoted this season…
at 13:34 10 Jan 2023

Possibly wouldn't put it quite like that, but....

I do think there is that added pressure to succeed this season now.

We shouldn't really be dropping too many clangers. We have the best squad in the division, of which I'm absolutely certain. The players seem up for it too.

I suppose my only concern would be discontent from players who aren't getting picked every game. That might cause discomfort in the camp.
But this bunch look like winners to me. I would trust them in big moments and there will be some big moments this season for sure.

Massive game Saturday..

Cambridge away poor ticketing

You really need a gold card, if you haven’t got one! I managed to get a ticket for every game I want, but it’s getting harder! Needs to be a points priority.

I agree. I managed to get some! But I was lucky.

It needs to be a points based system. 8 away games 4,3,2 etc etc!

Atmosphere and general thoughts
at 11:14 9 Jan 2023

It will pay off eventually, just keep up the good work!! I think a lot of the kids upstairs are desperate to grow up and join in.

There are a lot of people around me (S5) who love what you do, but perhaps not down with the ultra scene but happy to watch but not participate!

I start a lot of chants in our area and I rely on S4 to hear me and join in. S5 are the best seats so it will be hard getting people to move.

Sound doesn’t travel well. Hopefully success will bring a redeveloped stadium in time!

I would suggest this forum has its problems too. Maybe we should finally ‘get rid’ of this platform too then?

Or maybe, like what happens here, when issues arise we label it, stamp it out, move on!

Talking Town is pub chat, it has a place.

That’s my opinion!

They are not the BBC, they are amateurs who are tying their best to build a bit of content for us to listen to for FREE! If you don’t like them don’t listen to them.

As for what happened earlier, assume that’s the nature of your post, they have apologised. What Colin said was old fashion language, which TT have just apologised. Please remember they are amateurs! I like their content and accept their apology, as will the vast majority of their listeners.

Anyway. Great win today! Uppa Towen!

The only information I could find is that we are definitely at home against a regional (ish) side too. I want to win this thing!!!

Exactly, painting over cracks in 2019.

I've always said, not only are we starved of success, but we are also starved of entertainment. Watching us now is a joy in comparison to then.

2022

But 2022 feels very much different, in a good way!

Perhaps 26.5k tonight?…
at 14:04 8 Mar 2022

I think it will be good tonight. Previous games there was an expectancy to win (that shouldn't be an excuse).

As we have dropped points recently, I think the crowed will feel they need to play a bigger part tonight, to stop it happening tonight. It will be like the Wycombe game I hope.

Plus Lincoln like to get it down and play, which means they won't sit back for 90 mins. The game should flow more.

How the table could look after tonight's fixtures (08/03)
at 14:00 8 Mar 2022

Exactly this....

We have been starved of any excitement for 15+ years almost, I think that's why, deep down, I was kind of hoping that we didn't get promoted during Covid.

I'm buzzing about tonight. Been looking forward to it sense Morecombe away (the last game I went too). I think we are going to fall just short, but it would be nice to have the possibility until the end of the season.

F.A.O. Mr Ham (or anybody who knows)

If I was the majority shareholder / owner of a football club and my business was in the public eye, I would be embarrassed by the way that looks. Why has it been left like that, It's disgusting, an eyesore facing the cameras.

Sorry everyone, i know a lot of people couldn't care less, but this sort of thing really irritates me. It's a clear visible thing, which highlights, in my opinion, the typical neglect of this football club.

Even for health and safety reasons you couldn't sell tickets there, you would at least put the seats back, or put something there to smarten it up a bit.
It is such a simple thing to do and wouldn't take too much. Tiny bit of imagination maybe.
Grrrrr

Maybe i'm being silly, but IMO you have got to attract fans in other ways, not just what's on the pitch.

Club is a complete and utter mess.

What would it cost to build a new stand
at 19:23 20 Apr 2021

That’s not true at all. The entire match day experience isn’t about the 90 minuets. The club and the stadium do not offer a great facilities or an incentive to return. There is no way I would ever recommend anyone goes to Lowestoft, why? Because it’s a hole.

I live in an area which accommodates both Norwich and Ipswich fans. The neutrals always choose to go to Norwich, because they can get a drink, it’s a better environment for their kids, better seating, more to do and is spacious.

This club needs to move away from this dinosaur attitude and build for the future.

I’m absolutely certain better and more exciting facilities would generate more interest and grow our fan base.
