Mid life crisis?
at 19:06 27 Nov 2021

Buying a flash car isn't a sign of a midlife crisis now (apparently) it's buying a bicycle and/or learning to play the guitar, suggest you do that.

South Africa back on the Covid red list
at 11:59 26 Nov 2021

I'm only going on what the WHO rep said on the BBC earlier and he never said stop giving 1st and 2nd jabs to your population he said they wanted the booster programs stopped and those vaccines to be given to poorer countries.
Although the point was made South Africa doesn't have a shortage of vaccine supplies, actually the opposite, it's a lack of people coming forward for the vaccine which is the problem there

South Africa back on the Covid red list
at 11:43 26 Nov 2021

Although the argument seemed to be more about capacity to produce rather than money, the world can only produce x amount and yes new manufacturing facilities have/are being built but it's not a simple process. Plus where countries are building them, these currently are often used to predominately fulfil booster contracts. If you take the fact some immunity is better then no immunity, add-in in 6 -8 months its feasible another booster campaign is required would those again take priority over a 1st/2nd jabs for poorer countries, the cycle has to be broken at some stage, which is where that stop the boosters now seem to come from.
I'm not sure I really understand where you would stop/start the booster campaign but if the world requires a 1st jab it does seem sensible the rich countries injecting boosters stop and give it to the poorer countries.
However the point was also made South Africa probably isn't the best example as they have loads vaccines in stock it's simply the arms they lack with uptake of it only in the low 20% .

So, for once a serious post.

Maybe stop using the internet as that is neither ethical or socially aware and instead get on your bicycle and go chat to local shop owners to find out where they source their goods and only shop with those who buy local, ethically etc etc

As the bloke from the WHO just said on the BBC it's totally wrong for some countries to be giving out booster jabs while other countries haven't had 1st or 2nd. It's time for countries to stop the booster program ?

Toto in a nutshell today
at 19:43 13 Nov 2021

To be fair Celina had 3 good chances to play in other players in dangerous positions in the 2nd half and hit the pass so hard even Usain Bolt wouldn't get it.

Never sure why people always single out players like Toto.

Eddie Howe set for Newcastle
at 12:00 5 Nov 2021

I didn't say he was a failure, my point is football management is like life you get judged on your last job. Football is littered with managers who achieved great success at a club(s) but then that success tailed off and/or didn't reach that same level at the next club and they were judged on that last manager position.

There is an argument Bruce did a brilliant job at Newcastle keeping them in the Prem given the limited funds he was given, but plenty of people are calling him a failure there

Hence my point we about to discover which Howe is now at Newcastle the early from his B'mouth time or the latter

Eddie Howe set for Newcastle
at 09:24 5 Nov 2021

But isn't that like saying it's a bit b0llocks really how Paul Lambert gets seen in some quarters as 'Paul Lambert who got Ipswich relegated' rather than 'Paul Lambert, who took Norwich from L1 to the Premier League and kept them there while he remained at Norwich'?

The trouble is all managers eventually lose it, we all do as we get older, so yes he did take B'mouth up and kept them there for 4 season but he also took them down. Therefore has he declined early as a manager or was it a blip and he'll do as David Moyes is doing at West Ham and prove he's a Prem manager, we're about to discover the answer I think.

Those Newcastle owners have chosen the wrong club
at 14:35 3 Nov 2021

Why would they choose the North West (Manchester, L'pool) but not the North East, both are shlt holes? But they will go to the N East for the same reason they went to the N West, money, money, money

The majority of us are Ipswich fans...
at 11:44 3 Nov 2021

Unfortunately some people will never be happy unless they're moaning, but as I've said before it is a bit of a Suffolk trait.

While I would love us to be top of the league we're hitting good form now and only 10 points off the top 2 and still have plenty of games to go.

It's even starting to remind me of Burley's promotion season 99/00, where we had a bit of an indifferent start and then we hit that purple patch between Nov & Feb

When Mick Mills made the point about having 4 CHs on the pitch against a team like Lincoln who hoof it constantly can make a big difference he was laughed at. I think having 3 tonight also helped with defending the constant long ball Wycombe play.
