"Things have definitely changed!" - my Mum knew Roy Bailey's wife, they met when rummaging through the tat at a jumble sale.. (I had to stay outside minding the pram which contained a future England keeper.).
My question is whether he's better than those we currently have? I don't know but if he is then he's an upgrade to our squad and someone else exits. We have to evolve into a Premier level team ASAP, and it's not just a number 9 we need.
When he arrived, the talk from the KOA journo's was whether he'd be the "hairy arsed centre back who'll stick his foot through the ball" that we needed. He's that and a little bit more methinks.
I've been trying to order one, for delivery whenever, but the only postage option seems to "Rest of the world" at another £15 - I know Dorset is a fair way from Portman Road but this seems a bit extreme.
"Can’t imagine the olds being too keen" - I'm 71 and our generation invented Metal, grew up with Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, AC/DC... Metallica are respectable pretenders to the Throne, so Enter Sandman is fine by me! (remember we had this inflicted on us at FPR in the 60's and 70's - )
Phil McNulty writes on the BBC web page and places us 20th! He does admit that transfers could change things and that he gets it wrong - predicted Leicester to be relegated when they went on to win the league.
I don't undertsand the enthusiasm some have for BBD - my extensive research (Match of the Day plus a bit of Wiki) leads me to believe that he isn't the quality of finisher needed for the Premier League. Hirst and Al-Hamadi (he'll be our version of Jamie Vardy this season) before this guy - but a new striker too, please.
Some good ideas expressed in this thread on making VAR more effective. I'm generally in support of getting rid of it totally and relying on the element of chance that human led decisions involve - but then I think back to that Alan Hudson "goal" against us in 1970...
