Former Groundsman Chapman Dies
at 23:16:58

Sad to hear this. I had to spend a couple of days in hospital in February this year and Wiggy was in the bed next to me. A very nice man who shared a few tales with me from his time at Portman Road. RIP Wiggy.

McGoldrick: Players Trust in Mick
at 10:16:52

I thought that @Bluebell but if, as looks likely, they do come down with Villa & probably Newcastle, I actually think they'll be best placed of the 3 to go straight back up. It pains me to say that but there, it's done!

Town Unveil New Kits
at 08:23:11

So let's look at this. The league teams we'll need to wear an away kit against next season are Cardiff, Birmingham, QPR, Blackburn, Reading, Huddersfield, Wigan and possibly Brighton, Sheffield Wednesday, Millwall and Gillingham depending on play offs. We don't currently know all those clubs new home strips but, taking this seasons strips as an example only Cardiff & Gillingham of those have completely blue shirts all the rest have an element of white in them immediately counting out the blue or white shirts. I believe we wore our "Barcelona" shirts at Blackburn & Huddersfield this season as it was deemed it clashed with all the others by the various referees.

I may be jumping the gun here but I am already sensing an issue with all 3 strips in some cases. Does this mean they'll be an orange strip required again?

McCarthy Unhappy With Fans' Reaction to Maitland-Niles
at 08:09:52

I'm sick of your moans & groans MM along with your crap style of football. I didn't "oh" at AMN on Tuesday and didn't think he warranted being subbed at half time either. He wasn't brilliant but were any of them? How soul destroying for AMN to be singled out by being taken off after 45 mins. I thought Smith or Skuse (despite the penalty give away) were our best players and they play defensive roles so that shows how exciting our forward play was on Tuesday. Still, we did win the match in the end. Onwards.

McCarthy Hints at Changes for Owls Clash
at 07:42:06

The one player that does need dropping is McGoldrick. Shows no interest, mopes around the pitch like it's too much effort to do anything & when he does have a shot it's high or wide. When they came out for the 2nd half at Rotherham everyone jogged out except him. He just ambled out like he was off down the shop to get a paper.

Great news. Anything better than the crap that is Mitre.

Anyone know if you have to opt in to buying one or if it's included in the season ticket direct debit? :-)

Town Look For Rare Away Goal in McGoldrick's Last Game
at 07:43:46

So with strikers that can't score & defenders that don't concede, we're looking at 5 0-0 draws after McGoldrick has left! Will 5 points, plus whatever we pick up Sat be enough?

Villa Tickets Sell Out
at 14:51:16

NITFC - I have a season ticket & a gold card but my step son doesn't. He goes to the odd game throughout the season and wanted to go to Villa as it's a Premiership ground and FA Cup 3rd round day. So I said I'd take him but had to wait until the general sale. We went to Hull for the FA Cup 3rd round last year when a few hundred Town fans went obtaining tickets no problem. Sadly we won't be going to Villa as I wasn't successful this morning. True, I could buy him a Silver Card at the beginning of the season just in case but have not had the problem before. Still, we're not going and that's that.

Luckily we'll be at Wolves and Cardiff since, strangely, away tickets seem easier to obtain for these matches (or will be when Cardiff go on general sale). Must have got more than 2900 :-P

The phone system at ITFC is a joke. They don't have a queuing system, they just tell you all lines are engaged and cut you off. Why is this club so pathetic?

Jewell: Fans\' Mentality Has Changed
at 09:52:54

Paul Jewell has summed me up there! I've held a ST for 25+ years and dreaded home games last season. I know things take time to settle but losing 5-2 at home to Southampton and then 7-1 away to Peterborough made me wonder what the heck was going on this season. But because I support the Town I kept the faith and kept going to matches.I am now enjoying watching Town again, not just cos we are winning (although it helps) but because the football is good to watch. Tuesday night wasn't a classic but we dug in & even when Portsmouth did get in on goal I had confidence in the defence to deal with the situations. Aaron Cresswell is my Player of the Season so far and every time he gets the ball I get excited. I'm not the biggest fan of Edwards at right back but I thought he was great on Tuesday. Sonko & Collins have formed a good partnership & even Delaney looked OK when he came on.

Of course, it's not just the defence but I think that was the area that filled me with most dread under Keane.

Yes Mr Jewell, I am enjoying my football at Portman Road again. Is it time for kick off yet?

Coventry Game Moves for Sky

Umros - Loyalty extends beyond football. Family for instance.

If you want loyalty, I'll give you loyalty - over 30 years going to home games 25 of those a ST holder, 20 years going to away games, 4 complete seasons in all competitions & numerous away European ties. Others have done better than me but that's my contribution to loyalty.

Think before you post.

LancsBlue - May be you do think I am selfish but it is great news for me. I sympathise with those who have made arrangements as I was in the same situation myself this week with the England game being postponed. I had a non refundable hotel & train tickets so I know how it feels. TV rules football and they only have to give 10 days notice (remember Wigan at home just before Christmas one year? Moved 10 days beforehand). It's not right but without TV the game would be in a worse state. Let's look at it positively, casual fans who wouldn't have gone anyway but watched it on TV may be encouraged to get off their butts and down to Portman Road for the rest of the season.

I'll carry the omens forward and go 2-1 Town with Priskin & McCauley scoring :-)

Keane Hits Out at Critics
at 09:05:29

Keane can sod off. The tactics don't work, change them. One up front at home? You're a joke Keane. We are a mediocre mid table team who are going nowhere under this muppet. As he says, he's only here for 6 months and then he'll be gone. Thank God for that. Keane out.

Keane: News on Stead\'s Bristol City Move Today
at 09:25:13

Stead is also in the final year of his contract so if it got to January and a) Town decided not to offer him a new one or b) he didn't want to stay then he could go for nothing. So we have to way up whether we prefer £0 or £225,000 for him. It could be the former is worth gambling on because if he keeps performing and puts us in a strong position for promotion, £225,000 would be small change compared to the money we'd get for being promoted. One could also argue keeping Stead rather than pay for Chopra, Scotland or AN Other would be a better idea. However, it seems that the decision is being made in the board room which suggests they aren't prepared to gamble on promotion!
