That free kick that he put into the top corner with zero run up is still in my top 2 favourite free kicks. The other being venus' thunderb*stard at home to leeds. |

Maybe this time we've got the cash to just buy him now instead of watching him rip the league a new one then get groomed by some fancy german team before the season's even finished. |

It's a good point. If the army of footballers we signed last summer were all established PL players, we probably would have stayed up. Problem is that costs a fortune and there are financial fair play rules to stop that from happening. Which makes me wonder what birmingham are up to*. *very aware that everyone was asking the same question about us in league one. |

I'm in the 'ben johnson will be brilliant at this level' camp so i don't think we'll need to spend big on a RB. This season anyway. You're right about the other three but i'm wondering if one of the midfielders will be a top-quality prem loanee. |

I reckon our first signing is going to blow everyone's minds. 10 mill plus and someone no-one thought we'd be able to get. We'll do a couple of those, a loan and that will be it. Quality over quantity. |

We played a pre-season game in 38 degree heat at 5pm a few months back. Didn't feel massively different. Bit slower but it's o35s so not exactly high tempo anyway. My point is, you'll get used to it in the same way that we have. The human body's amazing. |

Surprised you took that as a dig at twtd. I've been pretty strong on how i thought last summer was a bit OTT with transfers but i think i'm having withdrawal symptoms. May need to crack out the sweet methodone of football manager for a few weeks, which hopefully won't turn into months and then years |

To get out of this division: 2 central midfielders (one really good, one younger who can improve) 1 striker (really good) Quality over quantity. We don't need a third right-back. Baggott's fine as 4th choice cb. Taylor's fine as a sub and humphreys deserves his chance as 4th choice. One really good striker because hirst gets injured a lot, not because he's not good enough. If it's not working, do our usual january shopping spree. |

Ah the old 'you know nothing about football' argument. A classic. |

I think he'd be great, and if i was in charge, i'd go for him, but i don't think we will. |

It's not really a binary choice of life or death for me because i'm at work 10,000 miles away in a country that isn't participating in the conflict we're discussing. If i was involved in the conflict somehow, i would absolutely be on a side unless i was an aid worker of some sort. |

Good question. Er...because war is a binary choice between life and death? Not really for us though. Because the internet forces you to have an opinion on everything? |
