Thread | 1998/99 - Last game of season v Sheffield Utd

Bit of a deja vu feeling now as I recall Bradford City were 2nd in First Division and we were in 3rd place. Bradford had to drop points at Wolves and we had to win against Sheffield Utd for automatic promotion to the Prem and we won the game 4.1. Bradford City were winning 3.2 and Wolves hit the post in the last few minutes, but the word went around our ground that Wolves had scored and we were up sparking mad celebration, but sadly that was not the case. We then lost the play off semi final against Bolton on away goals FFS after losing 1.0 at Bolton and then beating them 4.3 at PR under George Burley's management. 4 points over next 2 games will be enough to avoid play off nightmare and get back into the Prem once again. I thought he somehow won every ball in the air despite his lack of height advantage and had serious pace that caused us several problems. I thought he had a decent game. |

Fair play and respect to them - many of them applauded the half time pitch walk by the Foundation and then applauded on 60 minutes in memory of our fan. Nice touch by them. |

Katie Price doesn't bother and only gets fined £800 on the rare times that she gets caught, which is cheaper than her premium as she has previously been disqualified from driving 4 or 5 times. Many people in London now have 'pool cars' where one driver insures it and numerous people drive it so ANPR cameras do not identify the car as being uninsured and driving licences are being shared in the unlikely event that the drivers are stopped by Police. Meanwhile, law abiding people......... |

First half he went in for a heavy sliding tackle in front of the Cobbold, won the ball but was holding his left knee and limping afterwards for some time. He seemed to be struggling for a while and I felt that his corners were pretty poor in the first half as a result and never got past the first defender. Seemed better in second half though. |

I was in the Cobbold and thought the atmosphere was fairly subdued until last 15 minutes. West Brom fans were loud and sang all game. Didn't hear 'We've got super Keiran Mckenna' sung once - can it not be amended to 'Town are going to the Premier League' instead of 'winning the ****ing league'? Just a thought.. |

I remember one cold New Years Day in the 70's travelling on Betty Felgate's Coach to West Brom, but the game was called off mid journey due to snow, so the entire coach diverted to Cambridge and all watched their dull game. Puzzled a lot of Cambridge fans with the Ipswich chanting in the ground |

The same player caught him twice with his boot - once on the side of the face and again on the top of the head. Neither a yellow? WTF? Yet when an arm brushed the same Preston player's neck he cried like a baby and the ref stopped the game. Ref was atrocious. |

I recall in the 70's man Utd had all of the lower cobbold and were trying to climb into the upper section, but were being hit with walking sticks by the 'senior fans' up there - hilarious! |

Being the FA Cup Maidstone will be offered an increased allocation and they will probably easily sell 5000 as it will be their cup final. I have attended a few of their matches recently and they have some proper Chavvy teenage fans. |
