Benyu Looks Set to Leave Blues
at 16:55:37

The key point in this for me is that we did offer terms. And you can see quite clearly i think that micks a bit peeved that nothing has been agreed. We should get a decent amount of compensation - I know it doesn't replace the talent if he goes and makes it big, but if he doesn't want to be here and sign a deal, then so be it. Probably behind bishop and dozzell in the pecking order too...

Three Changes at Newcastle
at 14:29:53

I'm actually ok with Douglas as Skuse is out. Put Bishop in instead, and there's no one in that midfield used to sitting as the holding midfielder.
We also finally have players on the bench who can change a game. Seeing Bishop, Williams and McGoldrick come on would lift any side

Birmingham 3-0 Town - Match Report
at 17:59:53

This is hilarious. A few weeks ago we had won 5 away games in a row, our starting 11 were great, and no one could stop us.
There are 46 games this season, and one defeat against a rival, when down to 10 does not make us a bad team.
I'd love to know who the 3/4 quality players would be? The reality is, we have a very good team, and getting in players better than we have, without spending millions, is impossible.
And please stop going on about the FA cup, what I shame, we've missed out on an extra game against a premier league side that would have likely beaten us, and if they didn't, it would take something very special for us to go any further. Given how competitive this league is, I'd much rather be out of the cup to focus all attention on trying to get out of this league!

Winger Oar Departs at His Own Request

Would like to see us enquire about McGeady. Been told he can leave Everton on loan, he's Irish, an out and out winger, could be a decent option

McCarthy: Thank F**k for That!
at 18:08:26

Apologies if I don't name who my response is in reply to. I'm on my phone, and don't want to attempt a spelling and get it wrong!
I'm certainly not claiming that Chambers is a great full back, and agree that we should have strengthened in that area, however I think some of the recent criticism towards him is harsh, he is improving and learning the position and the way MM wants him to play it, and the last few games have been the best I've seen him play there. Ultimately he isn't a full back, but he is doing a job. The whole team has been out of form, and in my opinion Chambers has been unfairly targeted.
As for Murphy, I think that point also applies. The whole team was out of form, and with the exception of sears, the other strikers were especially. Murphy is something completely different to Pitman and Mcgoldrick, and because he requires attention from a couple of defenders, he leaves space for other players (like sears).
And battyblue, I am sorry for singling you out, as I get this is a site for opinions, but I get very frustrated with the defeatist approach of some fans. Why can't you just accept that we played well? I am certainly not a 'happy chappy' as our recent form has been poor, but realise that form is temporary and that we will turn a corner. We need to stay positive, otherwise you end up like a team like Bolton. That being said, I do trust mick. We would not get a better manager at this level. For anyone that says he's taken us as far as he can, and that people need to forget that he kept us from relegation, in my opinion you can forget that. At the end of the day, he's improved us every year and we got in the play offs for the first time in 10 years. He is the right man for the job.

McCarthy: Thank F**k for That!

Guentchev - personally I think it's a bit harsh to label chambers a liability just because it took him 20 minutes to get a handle on feeney, after the first couple of runs, Chambers seemed comfortable. I think he is finally starting to adjust to life as a full back, getting forward well and starting to get the measure of wingers. His last few games have definitely been the best I've seen him at right back.
But I agree, being back on track is the important thing. Unfortunately some people still need things to moan about when we play well, keep a clean sheet and win comfortably.

McCarthy: Thank F**k for That!

It's rare that I will reply directly to an individual on here, but battyblue you really are talking rubbish. Chambers has probably had his best games in a town shirt in the last 3 games, so not in any way a liability. He's got forward well, and not been overrun by decent wingers. Sears has arguably been our best player this season, and is creating an incredible amount of chances for the likes of pitman, Murphy and mcgoldrick. But I imagine you're the type of person that complains about him playing on the left, but would then still complain when one of the strikers is dropped for Jay tabb or jonny Parr on the left. And Murphy not on it for games?! You really haven't got a clue. He hasn't scored, but that doesn't mean he's played badly. He's a real handful at this level and gives us a completely different dimension and something else for the defenders to worry about. Knudsen is still adjusting to this league and country, but of course he doesn't deserve his chance to adapt and should just be dropped immediately. But wait, he was part of a clean sheet and overlapped down the left really well...
I'm glad you didn't go on, because you don't have a clue.

This is why Mick really is one of, if not the, best manager in the league. And anyone that can't see that is bonkers!

McCarthy: Gerken Starts, Sears a Doubt
at 17:44:10

Although I agree with everyone that as soon as Bart is ready he should be back in, as he has been playing well. However, has anyone actually considered that maybe Bart still isn't in the right frame of mind to be playing and actually this is just good man management again from Mick to keep his matters private? I don't rate Gerken in the same bracket as Bart, but he is still a decent championship keeper, and on his day has saved us many points. I think he might actually benefit from some extra support from us.

Brentford 2-2 Town - Match Report

Although it feels like a defeat, there sounds like lots of positives to take from this, and it sounded like we played really well until a goal out of nowhere. Think we'll learn from this and still feel that we will go one better than last year!

McCarthy: Mings Deal Good for All Parties
at 22:30:03

I, like many, agree that Mings has the potential to go on to be a future international and believe that given the lad had only played one season, to get the amount we did has to be seen as a good deal.
As for people's opinion on Parr, I disagree with the view that we are weaker with him in the side. I think everyone forgets that he was Palace's player of the year when they got promoted playing at lb.
I also think it sounds like we will be playing with out and out wingers this season, meaning having slightly more defensive full backs is sensible. Last season, with no real width, we needed that attacking intent from our full backs.

Mings Agrees Terms With Cherries in £8m Deal

Blues1 - my source is from Bournemouth. It could be wrong of course, but they have been very reliable in the past, and informed of this deal before it was reported anywhere so I'm inclined to believe them.

Mings Agrees Terms With Cherries in £8m Deal

I believe it is around £4mil up front plus the two players mentioned. £8mil after add-ons.

Personally I think this is a good deal for all involved and look forward to see what this means for our transfer policy!

Mings Cherries Move Odds Slashed
at 19:57:37

I live not far from Bournemouth and have been reliably informed that at this stage there has just been an enquiry. With Daniels their current LB I can't see Mings getting regular game time there. I have also been told that it is unlikely that Howe will not go anything higher than £5m, so at this moment in time, I can't see this one materialising. I could be wrong of course.

Town 1-0 Bolton - Match Report
at 22:01:29

Don't get me wrong, I've been as disappointed as any with our form before tonight, but have always believed the Mick knows what he is doing and kept faith. It was summed up brilliantly in commentary..."there was calls for Mick to change the back 4, we kept a clean sheet. Jay Tabb shouldn't be anywhere near the 18, scores the winner. Mick has no plan b, changes to 4-3-3 at half time and changes the game". I get the frustration, and everyone is feeling the same, but we are still a point from the play-offs, and are now 1 win from 4th. There are 8 cup finals left and we all need to get behind the lads regardless of team selections or some performances. Points are the most important thing, and we have a really good chance of celebrating at the end of the season!!

Norwich City 2-0 Town - Match Report
at 16:14:25

Actually not too downbeat, yes we lost, but they weren't exactly miles better. When we lost the derby earlier in the season we wet on to only lose 1 of the next 20. Our fate is still in our own hands, but the lads will need our full support - not people spouting rubbish like "Absolutely fu@king shi@e, no endeavour, only sears looked up for it. Mings is sadly overrated, tabb is atrocious is getting boring, will end 8th."
Onto Leeds on Wednesday, let's get back to winning ways! COYB

Varney Expected to Sign Ahead of Reading Clash
at 18:11:26

Everyone is talking about getting someone better - what you have to remember is that we are looking for a squad filler. You aren't going to get a top quality striker who will be willing to play second fiddle to Murphy, McGoldrick and to a lesser extent Sears.
Like most, I trust Mick completely and anyone he an TC think can add something to the squad, I will support fully!
