I love having my season ticket and save all year to afford it. I live in Newark, Notts and have a jolly day out with my long suffering Dad for home games. Get more fans into the ground every game and see the difference it makes. We all have different reasons for how we support the club, just so long as we DO support the club.

I must say that I am very suspicious of any interview in the programme. I stopped buying it for the first season in many years (cost/content etc) this season. It is the mouth piece of the club & has to be upbeat, on message, non controversial, tactful... Past managers have admitted their programme notes are ghost written for them which was when I stopped reading them. I suspect this interview has been constructed by the ITFC PR office. I sincerely hope not and I also hope that ME is sincere in what he says. Some very good posts on this topic . I found a hedgehog in our kitchen, anyone lost one? |

I'm delighted that the Trust has spoken out about this and agree 100% that investment in our Academy is essential as is Cat 1 status. I also fear the club propaganda machine is preparing us for a Cat 2 decision. We, as fans, must lobby, campaign and petition the Clegg, Evans and the club to opt for Cat 1. We also need to be able to demonstrate that it makes sense financially as this seems to be the only language that Clegg understands (certainly not football). This action needs to be coordinated and organised in order to be effective and convincing. If anyone needs inspiration of what fans can achieve, read 'Build a Bonfire' chronicling the fans' battle to save Brighton FC. We need to get more militant and have more influence on how OUR club is run. We all have a stake whether as a long distance fan or a season ticket regular. Let's start to have an influence on decisions! |

The Keane appointment was all about publicity. End of story. There are some players and staff who's dismissal he can never be forgiven for. I also seriously do not like having a chairman who will not show himself or communicate to the fans. |

Davekl12 - last 3 lines absolutely spot on. Rest of the blog very good too but that last para hits the nail right on the head. In the wake of the statements about the academy by Clegg and PJ I've been mulling over my own blog on the subject. You can see right through what they're saying - they're preparing us for catagory B because Clegg is a money man not a football man. If this club and owner have any ambition it must be cat A. PJ will want Cat A and so will all the staff. Fans all want Cat A. What we need is some 'Brighton Spirit'! Let's campaign and petition and lobby until we convince the owner that Cat A is right. Evans may own the club but it is truely ours; hell, we don't even know what he looks like.
There must be a supporter who is in a profession like accounting who can look at the figures involved and show that it is possible rather than us having to take Clegg's word for it. Can someone who is IT savy organise an on line petition, or petitions at the ground? Do enough supporters know what the issues are who maybe don't read Phil's amazing website? Lets not settle for 2nd best and do something about it. Brighton won their fight - have we got an Attila?

Could these high level philosophical 'Jewel in - Jewel out' posts be forum threads instead? llewej_tuo could expand on his arguments more fully and those of us who still think rebuilding our great club is a long term job and not just a 'new manager = instant success' thing could make our points against.

I had been thinking about this match all week and by Saturday was a bag of nerves. I followed the build up on Radio Suffolk on t'internet until 'they' pulled the plug at 5.20 exactly. Blast! I followed the game blow by blow on BBC sports live text updates. What a come back, what a 2nd half performance! Well done PJ & the team. Lets build on this. Agree with 'Wickets' about the Sheffield game comeback. |
